Zen Garden has the best dumplings ever! All the fish was fresh and their homemade teriyaki sauce was excellent. Nina and staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Good combination of high-quality food and informal atmosphere.

The music (live) was good, but there's no fixed music schedule.

It's the real thing. Zen Garden, less than one year old, has finally gotten it right. Chef Carlos subtly combines the elements - never easy - of Japanese, Vietnamese and Cantonese dishes. His sauces provide insight into his deft handling of the art. Each is well defined, different one from the other - often a problem in Asian restaurans - and the ingredients of Spring Rolls, wrapped in transparent rice flour, are excellent, as is his textured Kung Pao chicken - served with our with the nuts.
We lunched on Zen Garden's delicious appetizers of 'pot stickers with an unusual sauce, sweet yet not too, spicy yet not too, the aforementioned spring rolls and a marvelously prepard Kung Pao sans chicken.
The place is spotlessly clean, the kitchen open and well equipped. (You can sit or stand and watch your meal being prepared.) In the past the place has suffered from some unkind words but our visit could not have been more fulfilling, tastier and any less expensive.
Zen Garden is 100 mts past KM marker 50 at the southern-most end of Todos Santos. It is housed in a brightly painted colors and two very large doors beg you enter. You can dine al fresco or under the shelter of a high ceiling, open at one end upon a small garden sporting a lovely fountain.
For our buck, better than any La Paz or Cabo Asian/fusion restaurant, even if the service is a bit slow. Perhaps because everything is made fresh from scratch it's worth the wait.

It was a lazy afternoon and we were looking for a place to have lunch. We happened upon on Zen Garden and decided to try it out. Upon entering, you're immediately struck by the cleanliness of the restaurant and its very zen-like calming influence. Zen sayings painted all over the walls, a calming palette of colors, and a gentle water fountain add to the very spiritual ambience.
My wife and I had the BBQ pork ribs, pork fried rice and shrimp rolls. The entire meal was delicious and the BBQ pork ribs were unlike any other Chinese-style ribs I've had. Not only were the ribs tender (so what... who can't do that), but it was the masterful seasoning that was the star of this dish. It was so well done that you experienced these ribs, not just woofed it down like most meals in Baja. And although we didn't try it, Zen Garden offers over fifty different types of teas at its tea bar.
Nina, the owner was a gracious and very "hands-on" owner concerned with the customer's complete satisfaction.

After several days of Mexican food, it was a welcome relief to find the Zen Garden Cafe. it's at the edge of town in Todos Santos; on the left! Nina, the owner, an Asian American has created an inviting restaurant with seating under cover or outside with fountain. The walls are covered with spirtitual sayings, even in the open kitchen; not an exact quote, but this is not work but joyful play! The food was outstanding! The best spring rolls we have ever had the chicken and veggies was cooked perfectly with a yummy white sauce!
This is must eat while visiting!
