Hacienda Cerritos is an amazing place and the main reason is the people. Gregorio, the bartender, not only mixed great drinks, but was an all around great person. He educated us on the property and the area and even took us to some of his favorite restaurants in town. The entire staff at HC was so friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time.

We were with a group of 16 people and rented out the whole house. This is DEFINITELY the best way to go, but it would be cool too just as a couple or with a smaller group. We bought food and drinks on the way at Sams for half of our meals, went in to town for a few meals, and had cooks come to the house for a few meals (which were incredible).

The house itself is ridiculously awesome. Views are unbeatable, the rooms were huge and well appointed, and the common areas are great for chilling. The attention to detail throughout the house is impressive - no corners cut. The decor is very nice and well done. The pool area is spectacular. We spent most of our time hanging out at the pool/bar and in the hot tubs - which were especially awesome for watching the sunset.

Just go - and tell Gregorio the Dallas crew says hey!

This past weekend 15 friends and I gathered at Hacienda Cerritos for a little R&R. We rented out the whole hotel which made our experience very special. Our expectations were blown away.... the service was amazing, the grounds were perfect, the hotel rooms spectacular... it truly could not have been a better trip. We hired Greg (who works at the hotel) as our private bartender and I can honestly say I have never seen someone work harder. He made our trip.

We also hired Aide Rosas to cook breakfast and dinner for our group....the cooks spent all day cooking and were incredibly polite. When we sat down to enjoy dinner we were treated to one of the most delicious dinners I have ever had.

If there was a maintenance issue on site the hotel staff was quick to fix it.

I highly recommend Hacienda Cerritos and I look forward to a return trip.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in May 2012. What a gorgeous property! I think I broke a record for saying "Wow!" The room was huge and beautiful and very clean. The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was amazing and huge and the towels were thick and luxurious. The kitchenette was just right. We stayed in the South Master Suite, which is in my opinion the best location in the hotel. Wander around and see everything--the huge kitchen, the fabulous formal dining room, the stair case to the 2nd floor--all amazing. The staff was ever-present and very accommodating. Greg the Bartender was great! The views from everywhere are spectacular. The short walk down the steps to the beach and the local beach bar was almost a daily activity for us. The long uncrowded beach perfect for long walks and exercise runs. Have I said the word "amazing" enough? You have to have a "que sera sera" attitude anytime you are in Mexico. So the fact that the water shut off at least once every day could be a slight inconvenience, but you just adjust your schedule and go lay by the pool for a while and it will be back on later. We had the priviledge of sharing our space with 2 kittens on the property, which gave this a feeling of staying in someone's home, not a hotel. We loved it! The hotel is a short 15 minute drive from the small town of Todos Santos where we ate and shopped. You can get your groceries at the mercado and cook yourself meals at the hotel to save some money. A few things to keep in mind--The drive from the airport is about 2 hours, even though they advertise that they are "an hour from Cabo." The road to the hotel from the highway is a rough dirt road, and would be very easy to miss at night. There is no TV at all anywhere in the hotel. There is a monitor and DVD player in the room, but no cable or sattelite TV. Wi-fi access is only available next to the front office since the walls of the hotel are so thick. There is no restaurant on the property, but Inoticed a sign for room service from the sister property down the beach. We didn't try it so I can't review that. A short walk down the steps to the beach gets you to the restaurant on the beach. We had good food there. Not gourmet at all, but good. You can go further down the beach to the Cerritos Surf Colony for something more fancy. In conclusion, if you are looking for a very quiet getaway with very few other people around, this is for you! If you want party-central, go to Cabo. This is not for you.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are not hit by the cold winds. You get beautiful sunrises and a view of the...

We got a great steal on this resort on hungrybuy.com where the price was only $489! It's regularly $689 I believe.

Anyhow arrived to a stunning beachfront with much need sun as we are after all from Canada. Love the view from our room, especially during sunset. The staff and hotel management was top notched and were very attentive to our requests.

For the price I don't think you can get any better than this. If you are looking for a quiet getaway with your significant other then I highly recommend you come here.

Don't know if the deal is still available but here's the link for those interested:

My boyfriend and I were just there May 6th - 11th 2012 and I am looking to go back already. There were very few other people staying here and we do not care for crowdsd...perfect! We stayed in Bungalow 4 and no one was in Bungalow 3, so we had a private pool with jacuzzi and a great view of the North with water breaking on the rocks. The hotel design is MAGNIFICENT and the details in the rock work and wood work is amazing.
Steps lead down to the beach and we did have 2 meals at the Surf Colony. We ate our other meals in town at Todos Santos, which is only a 10 minute drive with no stop signs or traffic lights along the way. TOTALLY SAFE AREA!!!! THe surf is awesome with nice sandy beaches like Southern California where we live.
This place is not for everyone, but definitely for us and we are looking forward to going back!.

My wife and I spent 5 days in early May (the trip voucher was for only 4 nights, but we decided to stay an extra night). All the good things written so far are all very true. Yes, there are some "things" that are small issues. The cool thing is that the ownership and staff react to issues almost immediately, but you do have to understand that you are on Mexico time so may not be as immediate as us gringos would expect. The front desk staff (Cristo) and bar tender (Gregorio) are wonderful and very helpful at all times. On our original last night we had the VIP meal (a great deal) brought up from the Surf Colony restaurant and these two pampered us to the max throughout the whole meal that we enjoyed by ourselves in the main elegant dining room. There were activities of plenty, we did the surfing and spa treatments, but sitting and relaxing is also abundant. Local restaurants are great with a large selection. We had dinner on our real last night with Roger the owner of this dream and a few other friends and found him to be a very outgoing and charming regular guy. Someone that I believe I can now call a friend. We spent a lot of time at the Surf Colony and the staff there are just as friendly. We fell in love with this place and took advantage of an opportunity to become a “partial owner” (no nothing like a time share, much better set up without the annoying sales pitches). Here we met “Bob The Brewer” who is in charge of the home brewed microbrew that they serve at the restaurant, another great personality that I now call a friend (he joined us at dinner as well). All this detail is to show how this place is very much unlike anything that you would find in the tourist areas of Cabo. You will meet friends as well as stay at a most elegant hotel. We are already planning our return visit in October. Do whatever you can to get there as it is worth the effort and the folks at the reservation group (Mindy) are just as friendly and helpful. If anyone would like additional information I would be glad to answer any questions.

Room Tip: Thesouth side overlooks the surf beach and sun rise. The north side overlooks the sun set ... you...

My wife and I just spent a week at the Hacienda. "we're not worthy" is the quote that comes to mind. You literally feel like Brad/Angelina are in one of the suites getting away from the madness. We got a great deal thru Eversave that probably will not last. Obviously, the views are thru the roof. The Hacienda itself is well manicured, and filled with cool areas like the courtyard, the pool deck, the thatch huts (pallapas) with hammocks and hand carved animals etc. and the tower. The rooms have 40 ft ceiling with 15 ft tall double doors reminiscent of 18th century missions. There are 3 private beaches (that rival anything in Big Sur) where to our astonishment, nobody but us dwelled. The swim up pool/bar on the deck is the best view at the Hacienda. People gather nightly to whale watch at sunset and to hang with Greggorio the bartender/manager/all around great guy. Cerritos beach club/surf colony has great food and a spirited staff. The Hacienda staff are great people that give excellent advice (such as the restaurant Carlitos in Pescadero that was NYC GREAT!), but let you do your thing. Greggorio, Christo and Gail are just a few of the staff we now consider Friends. Todos Santos is the real Mexico. Nary a window or door in any business especially the restaurants and great food. Our advice is to be able to speak conversational/restaurant spanish, and convert your dollars to pesos. Just do it! Also, rent a car. You want to be able to explore the surrounding towns. So, if you like traffic/tourist traps/crowded beaches with people pedaling their wares and endless tipping, go to Cabo. If you want privacy in a rock star setting with cool people that are genuine, head to the Hacienda.
