Our stay last Feb. was spot on perfect so we've booked another 3 weeks this Feb. and March. CalyCanto Casitas are expertly managed by Laurie who made our last stay even more special with all her help finding our way around. There is definitely a reason Todos Santos is now ranked #6 in the world as a travel destination. Great resturants, weather and exchange rate make this a must as places to go in Mexico. Be sure and dine and drink at La Generala which opened last Feb. to rave reviews. Very authentic Mexican food.

Room Tip: Outdoor master shower is over the top.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at CalyCanto. The place is clean, nicely decorated and conveniently located. We surfed at Los Cerritos beach each day. The town is very quaint and inviting. Perfect getaway.

We stayed here for a week long surf trip. The house is just a 5-10 minute drive north of Todos Santos. It is about a mile from the surf spot, La Pastora. It is a 15? minute drive to Los Cerritos, the friendlier surf/swim spot. Short walk to the beach - but it is not recommended to swim here because of currents. The master bed was a little uncomfortable, but the outdoor shower made up for it :). The house is roomy and airy, with AC in each room (which we only used one night). It was considerably cooler here than on the East Cape. Kitchen had all the amenities including pots/pans, blender, etc. We cooked in quite a bit and went to town a few times for dinner. The upper deck has a great hammock and a small table. The extra bedroom has two twin beds. The WiFi works great and the TV has satellite. Kathy, the caretaker was helpful and very nice.

Just returned from our first trip to Todos and it was wonderful! What a magical town with so much character and charm. Our accommodations at CalyCanto Casitas were so comfortable that we didn't feel the need to rush out everyday. The house had everything we needed: we grilled our dinner outdoors, napped in the hammock overlooking the water, cooked great meals in the kitchen and had a manager available to us, on property, with any questions or needs. The beach was a short walk away and we walked miles without seeing two other people! Nicely decorated and very comfortable. Felt very safe there. Highly recommend this casita for up to three couples traveling together. (The beach is perfect for surfing, although we didn't surf)

Dorothy is a shade plant. She whithers at the first sign of heat. When friends, began to express surprise that we would be spending most of April at Calycanto in Todos Santos, Mexico I began to think that we might have made a mistake.

My concern was not necessary. Our accommodations came with an air conditioning but we never turned it on. The 3 houses, each with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, outside decks and patios and massive amounts of storage that make up Calycanto are carefully located near the top of a hill on a street called Brisa Del Mar (Sea Breeze). Cool pacific breeze swept away all concern generated by the bright sunshine and temperatures that, while cool in the evening, reach the mid 30s in the afternoon.

The private casitas (little houses, that are not really little) are impressive in the way they take advantage of the breeze and the ocean view. They include, fully equipped kitchens with 2 counters (each with its own sink), glass doors (walls) that slide away to let the air in and are situated so that there is always shade to be found on one or more of the decks that make substantial use of cool Mexican tile.

Calycanto is 4 kms from the center of Todos Santos. The last 2 kms of the road is rough but the small town, home to numerous Canadian and American expats is in the midst of a street improvement project that looks like it will extend pavement all the way in the next short while.

The site is a green oasis in the midst of a desert, beautifully landscaped with native plants. The variety of birds that make their home on the property are a delight but I’m a bit of a lazy bird watcher and would appreciate a bath or feeder to bring the birds out where we could get an even better look.

Kathy, the on site caretaker, added to our enjoyment by providing a wealth of information without ever intruding. Rabbits munching on the carefully tended greenery were a source of amusement to us but a constant problem for her and her faithful companion, Palladio.

Room Tip: All rooms (houses) are all good. They would be great for a family or group.
