“Delightful hosts, charming space full of heart”
Reviewed December 10, 2011

My husband and happened upon the Casablanca purely by chance the first time we visited Todos Santos and couldn't be more grateful that we did. We have been back to Todos Santos twice since and have continued to stay with Isabel and Gabriel. It just feels like home. I have stayed at bed and breakfasts around the world and have never been to a place offering such warm hospitality and care. If you are the type of traveler that requires "fancy" amenities and a host of tourist-oriented beach activities to have fun, then I would recommend staying in Cabo at a big resort. Or maybe just staying in California or Florida and forget Mexico. However, if you want to experience warmth and authenticity and you want to open your heart to having a unique experience that you can no longer find anywhere in the US, then come to Todos Santos and stay with Isabel and Gabriel. It's true, the highway from Cabo to Todos Santos is under construction right now and can be a pretty bumpy ride in some parts. But that will improve in time. If you relax and just go with it, it's no big deal. When you drive through the back roads of Todos Santos and arrive at the peaceful little oasis that is Casablanca B&B, you will feel as if you are experiencing something truly special and rare, and you will be. You can't have an experience like this in the U.S. Casablanca is beautiful, quiet, humble, meticulously clean, and is set up on the hill overlooking the ocean. If you choose, Isabel will provide you with fresh and authentic meals worthy of a 5 star restaurant. It is within walking distance to a completely deserted and magnificent beach. If you are in moderately fit condition, you will have no problem making the approximately 10 minute hike downhill to the beach and lagoon, and, once you are there, you will have the place to yourselves. Walk for another 15 or 20 minutes north and you will be able to see baby sea turtles released for the first time into the ocean. It's a precious experience! Todos Santos is only for people who enjoy quiet and warm hospitality, access to fantastic food and comfy accommodations without the hype of Cabo. If this sounds like you, then you will love Casablanca.

It looks like I'm repeating what other reviewers have said: this is a wonderful B and B. A great location in the hills overlooking Todos Santos, a 5 minute walk or 20 minute drive away, with the Pacific visible from the terrace where breakfast is served. Nicely decorated rooms; our 1st floor room had a lovely terrace. Fabulous hosts: Isabel and Gabriel are as gracious as everyone said; we felt like friends shortly after meeting them. And the breakfasts! Beautiful, creative, tasty, and filling. The price is really quite reasonable. We plan to come back!
I should add Todos Santos is worth a visit: first class shopping, fine restaurants, and a quiet real world vibe that's a welcome contrast to the noise and fakeness of Cabo San Lucas.

Isabel and Gabriel make this place--they are the ultimate hosts, welcoming, charming, delightful. We had the lower room with a nice view to the East. The rooms are nice, but the food is superb. Our breakfast was amazingly beautiful and delicious. Sautéed bananas with star fruit, an incredibly beautiful platter of fruit (papaya, mango, pineapple, cantaloupe, kiwi), followed by amazing shrimp enchiladas in mole garnished with a mango, pineapple, jicama, onion & cilantro mix.

We had such a good time that we can hardly wait to go back. It feels like Isabel and Gabriel will be friends for a long time.

We are professional photographers, and we were looking for some beautiful locations, and we decided to try Casablanca. What a wonderful surprise, after reading all the reviews, I knew that this would be a no brainer, but it totally overpassed our expectations. Eager to meet the so famous Isabel, and waiting to try her famous dishes, we embarked on this journey from North Baja. As soon as we got there Isabel and Gabriel welcomed us as if we were family members. Immediately after taking us to our rooms, she prepared lemonade with a touch a albahaca, and some incredibly delicious guacamole. We spent couple of hours talking to them, and getting to know them. We decided to go to the beach, which is just few minutes away. And when we came back we had the best experience of this entire trip ! Dinner ! ! !

We cannot get over our incredible of a good cook is Isabel. I had hamburger made with sheep meat over yogurt-mint sauce (I thought it was a little risky, but it was the best thing I ever had !) and my girlfriend had local fish catch topped with some exotic fruit sauce. Not to mention the appetizers ! The dessert was simply delirious ! Please do yourself and favor and eat dinner with Isabel, I promise it will be one of the best experiences in your life. I am not exaggerating.

The rooms are impeccable clean, very cozy and covers all basic needs. The included breakfast is definitely a plus, since it is more like a brunch. Don't look further, this is the best place in Todos Santos, and please have some time to chit-chat with Isabel and Gabriel they are the sweetest couple!

Room Tip: Top room had some view, and the hammock was very pleasant. September was a very humid. Eat all you...

My wife and I recently completed a two week tour of Southern Baja Sur which included stops in Cabo, Todos Santos, La Paz, and Loreto. During our time in Todos Santos, we booked two nights at the Casablanca - a choice which turned out to be the best decision and best experience of our entire trip. I have traveled extensively in over fifteen countries around the world and I can honestly say of all my stay's at Hotels and B & B's throughout the years, Casablanca rates as one of the best, if not THE best experience i've had.

Getting to the Casablanca requires navigating off the main highway down a few miles of dusty, bumpy roads. When you finally reach the property you will find an modest, unassuming property perched on a cactus strewn hillside with views of the Pacific Ocean located about a mile below. The real treat begins with the warm and friendly welcome you will receive from Inn owners Isabella & Gabrielle who make you feel welcomed and cared for from the very beginning. Accommodations consist of a detached two story building separate from their home which includes an upstairs and downstairs unit. We had the upstairs unit which was super clean, comfortable and nicely appointed with thoughtful touches such as a small library of select books, tourist maps, and information about the area.

During our first evening at the property - Isabella inquired about our preferences for coffee and tea in the morning and what time we preferred to have breakfast. When we awoke the next day, fresh coffee had already quietly been delivered to our doorstep, with a sampling of amazing homemade biscotti and shortbread cookies. When we came downstairs for breakfast, an amazing experience awaited on the outdoor veranda. Homemade granola with fresh homemade yogurt, fresh squeezed tangerine juice, fresh homemade raspberry and marmalade jams with amazing homemade scones, and a massive platter of fresh fruit of Kiwi, Pineapple, Mango, Papaya, Starfruit, fresh picked raspberries and blueberries and on and on. As we sat down, we were served a cooked caramelized banana drizzled in honey served on a banana leaf. As if that were not enough - a homemade crab enchilada with spicy mole sauce and pineapple salsa followed. Quite simply it was a feast for a King and Queen - and this beats any Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton breakfast hands down.

On day two - we took advantage of an evening cooking class offered by Isabella who opened her home to us and made us feel like old friends. I thoroughly enjoyed learning some of the finer points of South American / Mexican cuisine from her - she has clearly mastered the art of cooking. I could go on and on about the cooking and food experience - an amazing dinner and an equally fabulous breakfast the following day, but you get the point.

The combination of warm, friendly hospitality and luxurious meals was truly a highlight of our trip. Thank you Isabella and Gabrielle and we hope to see you again real soon!
