Tijuana is safer than you might think given the stories we hear north of the border. The hotel is well situated and with easy access from the border crossing. The room was very nice, and far better than anything you'd find to on the U.S. side for the cost. There were quite a few gringos staying there, most for various medical purposes. The restaurant also relatively low cost. The staff was friendly and spoke flawless English. I did find the walls a little thin and was awakened by the guy in 729 getting it on at about 1:30 am. Bottom line, if going down for multiple days, it is better to stay in Tijuana than going back and forth across the border (which was my first consideration) Would definitely recommend Hotel Ticuan for your stay.
