It was a wonderful experience to be in Pueblo Amigo Hotel in Tijuana,
it is so clean, service was excellent and also the food. We had the Breakfast Buffet and it was very good.

I have stayed at this hotel twice. Staff is helpful, rooms are clean, and the food is good.

A previous reviewer mentioned to book online and I agree. I showed up without a reservation and they quoted me an inflated price of around $95. I told them I saw a "Gamblers Special" online for $58. They said it was only available with an online reservation. I asked if I could use my laptop and they said sure. I fired it up at the front desk, reserved the special, and had my discounted room!

As a first tip, please reserve a room before you get to the lobby. They have a Sunday Nfl special going on for 53 dollars or 650 pesos online. If you book this trough expedia or other travel site you will get your rate but if you go into the hotel lobby they will up sell you up to 100 dollars for a 53 dollar room.

Where do I begin, my stay here was horrible and i'll back it up with honest well written reasons as to why. First off the hotel rooms need a face life. The old wall paper in the room has been there for ages its peeling. the bath tub is large but the plumbing leaks from the hot and cold water knob. There was no drain stop. The beds in these places are super firm and cheap. You could actually feel the individual wire as you are sleeping. the television is a 19inch tube where other hotels such as camino real, marriot, and other had upgrade to flat panel lcds.

You had better get a room not facing the road that leads to the san ysidro border because it is sooooo noisy you won't get a wink of sleep.

What upset me about this hotel was that you could reserve a room online for 53 dollars and they wanted 95-100 for the room. When I said I wanted to nfl special for 650 pesos or 53 dollars they said they couldn't do that.. What low class..what low life staff trying to portray this hotel as something its not. Well when I went online to reserve the room they finally caved in and gave me a rate in the 70s. I my check just had not cleared for me to make my reservation. It was that woman receptionist. Please do me a favor an pass on this hotel. They are nothing but a bunch of scammers dressed in suit and ties.

I have stayed here a few times some years back prior to the improvements, The Casino is a nice attraction to have on site. Room service was good. I was disappointed with the restaurant because you had to have the buffet for breakfast couldn’t order from the menu. The way around it was to eat breakfast in your room??? I hope they change this and by the way I did try the Buffet No Bueno!!

We stayed here 30 September 2010. This hotel is very easy to get to from the San Ysidro border. You can easily walk across and get to this hotel without a taxi if you don't have a lot of luggage.

The hotel has an open atrium which serves as the restaurant and casino. All of the rooms open to the atrium so you would think it would being noisy from the slot machines.but actually, the noise came from the band that was playing. However, after the band stopped playing at 11pm all was quite.

There were a few quirky things about the hotel. Our key card took several swipes to open the door.

if you need a hotel close to the border this should be your first choice. Just remember that Mexican hotels don't have the same standards as American hotels. But this hotel will satisfy most Americans.

just got back from staying at the hotel pueblo amigo.when you cross the frontera you can catch a yellow cab aprox 5 dollars or a taxi libre 3.00 the location is so close that i just walked it about 10 min . left the hotel and walked to ave revolucion about 10- 15 min a nice walk (during the day ) at night i would recommend a cab. very cheep. the hotel is in a good area of town and is close to every thing near down town or the zona rio one of t.j.s better areas the room and sunday brunch were all very good and the staff was also above ave. at first they could not find my reservation but if you show them your conformation they will find your room quickly also went out to a few night clubs on revolucion and felt quite safe the town seems to be getting better as of late. and the el centro and zona rio and shopping areas all had a good police pressence. had a wonderful time in your city and the hotel pueblo amigo was a large part of this the people of t.j. as allways were wonderful.
