Bistro Mazatlan at Kilometre 54.5 is amazing! It is owned by the former 5 star chef at the Coronada Hotel in San Diego and the United States in a grave error of judgement, revoked his green card. Now he here: just 54.5 kilometers across the border, preparing delicious gourmet dishes for us!!! I watched him snip fresh herbs for our dinner--it could not have been more perfect. His wife is the bartender. The prices were astoundingly cheap--we would have paid three times as much anywhere else. The decor is "Baja California", but very clean. The chef and his wife sat down and chatted with us after we'd dined--and they are lovely! It is almost too good!!!
