“love this place”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

I stayed at the Hotel Posada San Martin, Loreto in February and again in March of 2014.

This is a lovely, family-run inn, close to the malecon and Orlando's, where they make excellent food and amazing margaritas.

The rooms are clean, the garden is lovely and the hosts are warm and accommodating. The coffee (real coffee, not the dishwater you get in some places) is on promptly at 6 am, the linens are line-dried, the shower is good and the water is hot. They'll even give you a lift to the airport if you need it.

I met people from France, Austria, Germany, Russia, Holland, Australia and England, even someone from my home province, Saskatchewan.

I hope to return soon.

We came in from camping to get supplies, take hot showers, have a little town time and found this hotel: $350 pesos for two. It is located near the plaza. Great rocking chairs in the common area. Quaint. The staff is friendly. I had a nasty cough and the owners made a special herbal tea with local ingredients! How can you complain about that? Yes, as noted the rooms are a tad dark and it takes awhile to get hot water, but for the price, Hotel Posada is a great value.

The hotel is very conveniently located, near the main plaza, the malecon (waterfront) and various restaurants. The layout is interesting with rooms opening into a common courtyard area. However the rooms themselves are small and a bit dark. However having said this the place was reasonable enough, not unpleasant. Everything was clean and in working order and the staff was welcoming.

My room was 300 pesos and was a great value. The room was clean and pretty large (I'm bicycle touring so it had room for all my gear and bike without being crowded.
They have coffee ready in the morning and a very friendly, albiet, small staff.

The hotel is just off the street so there is some noise, but nothing that's too bad and it's only a couple of blocks from the center of town.

Room Tip: I stayed in #2 which is closer to the street but I honestly don't think it will make much differ...

We paid 350 pesos a night ($30US) and this room was very clean, with a good private bathroom, functional cable TV and most importantly amazing air conditioning. don`t expect luxury, but for a budget option, this was above expectations. highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms are equal, some have 2 beds.

Rooms are reasonable size if a little dark, situated around a courtyard just inside the main entrance. Purified water available in the courtyard. No problem with the hot water. Beds comfortable. What more can you ask for the price?
