Las Cabanas de Loreto is a beautiful place to stay. Jill and Rick are wonderful, gracious hosts. We appreciated their help with arranging snorkeling and other boating trips. We look forward to many more vacations at their place.

Jill and Rick are so friendly and make you feel at home here.

Fridge stocked with fruit and a couple beers on your arrival.

Friendly advice, when we said we wanted to cook fish for dinner, Jill drove us to a wholesale fish market at someone's house that we never would've found on our own. The fish was cheap and delicious. We made our dinner at the outside communal kitchen (we also had a group dinner there a few nights later).

Another couple had booked a trip out on a boat with Rick (professional wildlife photographer) to photograph whales and dolphins, when we expressed interest, we were invited along. They also had heavy jackets and hats for us to borrow, because really, who brings that to Mexico? And they were needed, quite chilly out on the water.

There are free bikes to use. Stay away from the one with the basket on it though, it's weird and difficult to ride.

We've already booked another trip here.

The last review said it all. This place feels like home and you won't want to leave.
Jill has a lot of info about Loreto, use her knowledge.
Can't wait to go back and visit when it's cooler.

If I'll return to Baja California, no one must book before me at Las Cabanas de Loreto.
Therefore, I tell you that everything in the b&b is terrible and the owner is really a witch!
Just kidding! you don't have to choose the room, they're all good. Jiil doesn't serve breakfast, but for the first days you can find in the fridge and in the kitchen all you need for it, especially Jill's special granola, made by herself! In the patio, you can prepare dinner with your friends, using a fully equipped kitchen. The pool is nice and perfectly clean. Jill will lend you all you need for your day on the beach: a perfect organization! As a witch, she can do everything for you because she loves her job; she is lovable. Thank you Jill for our wonderful staying. A kiss.

Found Jill and Rick's Las Cabanas de Loreto on Trip Advisor on our drive down to Loreto while staying in Mulege. Nothing you read here can really capture the experience we have had so far. We are 3 days into a 4 day stay and couldn't be happier.

If you appreciate the finer things in life then you will really appreciate the experience Jill and Rick have prepared for you during your stay in Loreto. Here is a list of things that we have found "above the bar" so far:
1) the cabanas are very well decorated, clean, full of Rick's photography, kitchenette, large bath with walk in shower. Jill loads the fridge with granola, yogurt, milk and fresh fruit. A large water dispenser is kept full during your stay. Beds are very comfortable with soft cotton sheets. A/C is cold and the ceiling fan keeps the whole cabana cool. In room safe and plenty of storage. Did I mention the fishing rod holder near the door???
2) The pool is a very welcome treat after a hot day on the water. Hot tub (not needed in July) and a new fountain that flows into the pool and has a see though fire pit.
3) The whole property is laid out to make you feel comfortable and at home. There is an outdoor kitchen with bbq, firepit and all the kitchen machines and utensils you can think of. Even and Margarita machine!!!!
4) Even though we have found Loreto to be a very safe place, they have a large gated driveway that you can pull your vehicle into at night.
5) Freebees that you won't expect: bicycles to use when you want. A closet full of hundreds of movies to choose from. Snorkel and beach gear free to use during your stay. Extra towels for the pool or beach. Large fridge and freezer in the common area to use for those things that don't fit in your room. Wireless internet (they don't have postal service or ups but they have blazing fast internet. Video skyped my parents in PA and showed them the property from my macbook pro without any delays!).
6) They have a list of places to eat and experience and so far their recommendations have been spot on! They connected us with a fishing captain that they use all the time and he has been the best captain/guide we have ever had. Great english and really makes your trip fun AND successful (so far, one more day of fishing).
7) Rates. You will not believe what you get for the money here. We've see several of the other properties listed here on TA and you cannot go wrong at Las Cabanas.

What has made our stay even better than the property are the owners themselves. Great people with a great place to stay.

5 stars!!!!

Cheers,

Kerry and Dawn

Been there almost every year. No better place in the area for service, accommodations, fishing, great resturants. The owners have done so much more than a guest should expect. AAA cabanas with the features you would expect at the Ritz or Four seasons. Yes, we will go again in the fall or next spring.

We recently stayed here on our visit from New Zealand. Great hosts and amongst the best facilities we have found for this type of accommodation world wide. We would recommed it and stay here again. However we are still at a loss to understand how our bill went from the 95usd a night quoted to a charge of 108.50usd a night charged. Maybe if we return we can have that explained.

Hola! Thank you for the review. I apologize for not explaining your bill properly when you checked out...my fault....our cabana studios are 95.00 USD per night plus a 14% room tax. (11% to the Gov and 3% hospitality tax), hence the 108.00 per night. It was nice to meet you and glad you arrived safe and sound back home in New Zealand! Hope to see you again in Loreto. Saludos. ~Jill
