We stayed at Villa del Palmar Loreto and booked a trip for the Tour Isla Danzante. Our fabulous guides were Daniel and Fernando. We had gone out with Daniel on a tour of Coronado Island the day before (also highly recommended) and were glad he was going to be our guide again. They took our group to see a pod of dolphins in a beautiful cove on Danzante Island. Then they found a school of manta rays and asked if we would like to swim with them. Our group got in the water, surprised to swim with not just a few manta rays, but schools of several dozen of them! These peaceful filter-feeders were very graceful and beautiful as they swam all around us. Amazing! A once-in-a-lifetime experience. (Check out my photos taken with an underwater camera.)

Next, we took a tour of some neat lava rock formations and the gorgeous coastline terrain. Then we came upon a pod of common dolphins, which loved to play with our boat. They surfed the wake of our boat and also swam right under the nose of the boat, racing the boat. I have never been so close to dolphins before. They were about an arm's distance away from us and loved to play with the boat.

Daniel took us to a snorkeling spot and Fernando guided us to some amazing sea life. He was a great snorkeling guide and knew what to look for. The water was very clear and we saw the most abundance of fish I have ever seen in my snorkeling experience.

We ate lunch (provided to us) on the beach and had the opportunity to snorkel as long as we wanted. After lunch, we toured smaller islands with colonies of frigate birds and boobies (yes, booby birds).

A plus to taking this tour over Coronado Island, is that Danzante Island is closer to Villa del Palmar, and the boat launches out of Puerto Escondido, so you avoid the road construction. They also brought us back to the Villa del Palmar beach. Upon arriving back to the bay, Daniel and Fernando anchored the boat and invited the group to help them dive for chocolate clams. We brought the clams back to the bar on the beach, and the bartender prepared the clams for us to taste. Very fun!

This was a really fun tour, with so much to see and do. I definitely recommend it! Thanks Daniel and Fernando! We'll be back again for more fun and amazing memories!

I recently booked a fishing trip while on vacation in Loreto with Wild Loreto and had the pleasure of having david Buragin as our captain. It was just my son and me and it was my son's first time fishing on the ocean. It was an awesome day. My son caught two dorado within the first hour of being on the water, and later in the day we hooked a marlin, which we both had the opportunity to fight. Great fun! In between, we saw manta rays, sea turtles, dolphin, and even saw a mako sharks launch itself completely out of the water. Pretty spectacular! David was a great host and helped create a very memorable day. Thanks David!

Did the sunset catamaran cruise through the marine park and around the islands. Breathtaking and relaxing. Saw a lone dolphin and had great company. The captain and his first mate are very hospitable. It's not only a happy hour cruise but you learn about the history of the area, as well. The little pug is a lot of fun to have on the boat too.

On our recent trip to Loreto (via Villa Del Palmar) we took advantage of several tours through Wild Loreto - the Sunset Catamaran Cruise, the Coronado Island trip, the Kayaking/Snorkeling morning excursion, and the trip to the Mission San Javier.

The tours we took were worth every penny! Our guides were knowledgable and friendly, and were very enthusiastic about sharing this little corner of the world that they love with their guests. We felt like we were truly immersed in the amazing history of the area, the unique culture of rural Baja California Sur, and the outstanding wildlife.

I am afraid of snorkeling - but my husband loves it! On our snorkeling excursion the guide was more than patient with me and took the time to offer additional tips and encouragement.

We're already planning our next trip back to Loreto, and when we do we'll be sure to look these guys up again - we were very, very pleased!

We just came from a day of fishing with David at Wild Loreto. He was very patient as the fish were not biting at first, so he took us around to a number of areas in the Sea of Cortez and finally we started getting bites. He is very knowledgeable about the area, punctual, professional, clean and patient. He is also a dive master and can lead more than just fishing excursions.

He cleaned all of our fish for us and kept the boat tidy and in excellent working condition. A great day on the sea!
