Said the guide and Roberto the captain took six of us from the Loreto marina to Coronado island in a 10-person boat. On the trip, Said (pronounced "sa eed") gave colorful commentary on the flora, fauna, topography, geology, ecology and many other aspects of the island. He is humorous, knowledgeable, and earnest about everything. Roberto handled the high rolling waves extremely well and is to be commended for a comfortable trip. The entire experience was a blast!

Thanks For choosing us. Lots of different pangas go to Coronado but few actually have trained nature guides. Most are fishermen who aren't catching fish since the park as established years ago.

We offer three options starting in March new tour options:

Coronado Island shuttle (just the boat ride)

Coronado island run (boat ride and guide)

Coronado island tour which includes all snorkel gear, picnic lunch and drinks, a tour around te island and even a hiking tour to the top if guests want. A more complete adventure.

Wild Loreto Tours booked all our trips while we stayed in Loreto. You can find them in town by the mission or they will find you. Lynn gave us great service. We had a desk at our resort, Villa del Palmar as well where we met Alan. We took the trip to San Javier and the Mission which is another review I wrote. We also went whale watching with our guide Efrain to see the gray whales and their babies near Magdelana bay. They came so close to the boats you could look them in the eye. We had a delicious lunch afterwards. We also went Island Hopping in a panga that took us places you would never see. One island had salt caves. Ramses was our guide on that trip. We came upon a huge pod of bottlenose dolphins and they swam and played with our boat. The water was very clear.
The Island sail and snorkel catamaran tour was awesome. We motored out to Danzante Island with our guide, Said Orozco, and went snorkeling and while the water this time of year is on the cool side, it was fine with 3mm wetsuit. Our Captain Ward Latimer and his first mate, the lovely pug Bridget were wonderful. Ward know those waters like the back of his hand. We saw many varieties of star fish and lots of sea life. We had a great lunch and then opened the tequila and threw the cap away. A wonderful day. We also took the Sunset Sail Cruise with Ward, Bridget and Said. We got to see areas around Loreto you would never see from land. Little communities completely off the grid. We saw osprey nests high on the rocks of the islands and blue footed boobys as well. And a beautiful sunset too.
We also spent some time at the Santuario Beach Club located on the beach at Villa del Palmar. We had two dozen delicious chocolate clams and a couple of beers served by Roberto who also can offer you paddle boards and kayaks to play with while you are there. They are solar powered and also have a clean bathroom.
When in Loreto make sure you visit Wild Loreto and have a wonderful time.

What a great experience! We specifically booked during the Grey whale migration season and were not disappointed. took the tour by Wild Loreto to the lagoon near Magdelana bay and quickly saw whale spouts. after cruising closer we were entertained by a mom and juvenile whale for 90 minutes, with the whales coming up to the panga unafraid. Our guide, Fausto, and panga capt Nate were great, providing valuable information on the whales. Fausto was also our driver from the resort making the drive a very pleasant one. PERFECTO trip!

Thanks for touring with us. Many visitors grab a rental car and head off to see the sites. And while you see the sites you miss the inside stories out local guides an give you. The natural history, cultural history and a helping hand to make sure you don't waste a minute of your vacation getting lost, fixing a flat or just not getting to the right place at the right time.

Supporting our tours also supports the local economy rather than big buck rental companies. Travel the world but support the locals. We definitely appreciate our clients and give the te best authentic and original experience possible.

We went on 3 tours with Wild Loreto last week while we were at the Villa Del Palmar outside of Loreto. Their main desk is located at VDP but tours can be booked from Loreto as well. The booking staff are great.
We went on the Magdalena bay whale watching tour- definitely wear long pants and a jacket! We saw lots of whales, got lucky with a nice calm, sunny day. The 2h drive to the bay is interesting, the guide did attempt to give some history of the area on the way. Lunch was pretty good- shrimp and fish.
We also went on the catamaran snorkel tour- they pick you up on the beach at VDP and take you to Danzante island to snorkel. Shortie wet suits are provided and very necessary. Captain Ward was great and dive guide Said is very knowledgeable. Both were lots of fun. there aren't a ton of fish but there are more types starfish than I have ever seen in one place.
We did the tour to San Javier as well, very interesting if you like history. The stop at the cave paintings is also a very beautiful area. Lunch was taquitos and quesadilla. I do agree that you are better off with a tour rather than driving yourself if you have a rental car right now since the road is washed out in several places.
Will definitely go on their other tours in the future.

Thanks for choosing Wild Loreto and touring locally. Taking local tours supports local economy. The catamaran tour is the only one in Loreto and one of the only ways to see the pristine Danzante island. So many islands so little time. The stars are out during the day! The star fish that is. Lots of varieties and so colorful. Very different waters than the typical snorkel spots in other destinations. Thanks for sailing with us! Come visit soon!

My husband and I went on a snorkeling excursion through Wild Loreto while we stayed at the Villa del Palmar Loreto. This was a great and well guided trip. Said, Efrain and the rest of the crew do an excellent job of making sure you are safe, comfortable and having a great time. Water, beer, margaritas etc. are offered throughout the trip including on the way out to the snorkeling site. The crew provides snorkeling gear and wet suits if you need them. This is a guided snorkel where the staff point out a variety of sea life to make sure you don't miss a thing. After the snorkel, guests are provided sandwiches, ceviche and chips before heading back. This was a great trip thanks to the wonderful captain and his staff!

Wild Loreto offers three different snorkel excursions:
1. Catamaran sail and snorkel on our 36 ft catamaran sailboat.
2. Kayak snorkel excursion to the paddle close islands near the south end of the park
3. Coronado island snorkel by panga to the most famous island due to its close proximity to Loreto town.

All three include food, drinks and gear. The guide will show you the way!

Thanks for your comments
