Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa at The Islands of Loreto
Ranked #1 of 20 Hotels in Loreto
Certificate of Excellence

This is a relatively new property. We had a 2 bedsoom suite with a beautiful view. The people were very nice. We took the all-inclusive for 3 days and was on our own for 2 days. The restaurant food was good. The all-inclusive is defined as 3 meals per day. You can start it with any meal, but then it runs without breaks. Lunch options were a little limited. The hotel is out by itself. If you are looking for nightlife, this is not the place for you. But, if you want a quiet getaway, excellent choice. If you plan to cook, be sure to shop in Loreto before settling into the resort. Shop selection on premise is basic. Beach is not sandy and the bugs come out when it is too calm. All in all, a good property.

This was a lovely quiet Mexico week! Great hiking and choices of activities, kayaking, snorkeling, spa treatments, tennis, sitting at the pool, walking the beach all in an atmosphere of your own private club. This was a great change from the hustle at Cabo...which we enjoy but this was the way to relax.

Great service, Manny was attentive and made us feel special and the Danzante Restaurant was superb, well worth the addition of $15 per person, Gabriel made me feel like a princess!

Still things to do we didn't have a chance for, so we will go again.

Room Tip: over lobby and ocean view.

In planning this trip we had a difficult time deciding to stay here or in town. We are glad that we chose to stay here; we visited the town one day and were not impressed. There is not much to do there and the waterfront was bleak. We had dinner at the Mission Hotel and it was excellent.

This resort is 45 minutes out of town, so it really is a destination stay. We read various reviews about the resort and were slightly wary. It is a little odd that when you leave the highway you are on a gravel/dirt road that actually crosses a riverbed. Very bumpy. However, once you get to the resort, it is a different experience. The rooms are large with a full kitchen and top of the line appliances. The deck is large with great views of the bay. There is no in-room wifi, but you can get a signal from the wifi at the pool if you go to the deck railing. There is no Verizon cell service, but apparently ATT works.

The service at the pool and restaurants was dependable, but a little slow. Always very pleasant. The facility is very well maintained and you can see staff constantly working on it. The food was fairly good; there are two restaurants and food at the pool/beach outdoor facility.

The staff put on nightly shows with different themes that everyone seemed to enjoy. We liked the glow in the dark art that is on the walks out to the waterfront. The evening sky is full of stars.

All in all we had a great experience here and were not sorry we booked there. I most likely will not go back to Loreto however.

Was not easy to find at first, no signs on the road, we stopped twice to ask directions, it's 30 min to drive from Loreto. Hotel was nice, great suite with kitchen. We had all inclusive option but if you want to make your meal it's very convenient to have fully equipped kitchen. Food was average, nothing special. Very bad entertainment in the evening, dancing show was terrible, they can"t dance!!! Great spa and salon, nice facial, massage. Beautiful beach, nice hiking trails around. If you need a place just to relax you would like it.

Room Tip: With view of the sea

Villa del Palmar is a wonderful resort in Loreto. The view from our 4th floor window was amazing. The one bedroom suite was so comfortable and cozy. All the staff were super nice and friendly. The food was amazing. Loreto is a hidden gem in Baja. It has lots of activities and history to enjoy especially if you like outdoor activities. This was a great vacation. I can't wait to go back. Did I mention the view? Because it was amazing!!

Was there was a couple of days, but had both good and bad experiences :
Bad
1. Lots of bees
2. Visited the information meeting about buy(similar to time share ) let me say... bad experience ! I was being forced to buy in and wanted me make a decision right on the spot. Wouldn't allow you to think throughly and get back to them. That ruined half of my morning :-(. This was my first and last time going to these meetings.
3. Location is isolated from town, it's a 40min drive into town however shuttle is free.
4. Would recommend all inclusive , because food is expensive

Good
1. weather was just right
2. Good shrimp tacos in Casa Mia
3. Workers are very friendly
4. Nice & clean room and grounds well kept, although they had elevator problems
