“Beautiful area and resort!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2012

Absolutely loved the town of Loreto and our stay at Villa del Palmar! Our best Mexican vacation experience. A great destination away from the typical tourist locations with night life, vendors, etc. VDP is a beautiful resort with the best service and nicest staff ever!

We were nervous at first because of how new the resort was BUT it was unreal!!
1. The food quality was off the chart. We had stayed in loreto before this resort and quality fresh vegetables and fruit were hard to come by. The kitchen tour was breathtaking and ran out of time to see the on-site desalinization plant but water right out of the spickett was great.
2. The wildlife and surrounding habitat was unreal. From a little ponga you can fish, snorkel, scuba, see dolfins, hop around islands. Also, took a catamaran out around the local islands and had a few beers. Bring home the catch and the chef woul make your fish a couple different ways with a bunch of extras. Really above and beyond.
3. Remote: 35 min south from the little town of loreto or 3 hrs north of la Paz it's certainly out there but you literally don't need to go anywhere else.
4. The staff from waiters to the kids club were fantastic and top notch. Our 11 and 12 yr old girls had the time of their lives.
5. As we got to know the other guests they also had the same fantastic experience. There was about 80 - 100 guests and weather was PERFECT every day - not too hot during the day and not too cold at night.
6. NO MOSQUITOS! Typically we go to puerto Vallarta or the carabean and get eaten alive by them or the noseeems. Here there were none and never got bitten.
7. Our family plans to go back next Easter.
Cheers and hope you have a wonderful vacation like we did. See some of the photos I took attached.

Just returned from VDP Loreto. Great property. None of the hotels in Loreto have a beach, so if you want a beautiful beachfront hotel this is it. The VDP is on a beautiful bay about 20 minutes from town. We bought all of our food at the main grocery store in Loreto before heading out to the resort. El Pescador market in the town of Loreto has everything you need. Don't worry about your spanish, there are many Americans all around town. One main street and everything you need is on that street. From the minute you arrive until you leave the staff will be there to help. We have traveled all over the world and the staff at VDP is exceptional. I don't think it possible to find better. And they are all so warm and friendly, like family. It was hard for me to leave. I became friends with a few of them. Lars Medina was the first person we met and then Elizabeth and Alan. We met Cruz the next day. They all speak excellent english and are knowledge about anything you need. The atmosphere is very casual and comfortable. The staff is always close by checking your needs or just visiting with you. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of privacy. But for me the staff really made our experience great. I don't think I have ever said that before. There is a little fishing village down the beach with a small grocery store and across the street the fishermen sell their fish in the afternoon. You can read the other reviews about the resort itself. We love Baja and we like being away from the Cabo Style party scene. Enjoying sunrises and sunsets and walks on the beach with a taste of the culture of Mexico is what we love. That is what traveling is all about. Vaya con Dios

Just spent the last week in March at this resort with the family and it was an overall outstanding experience. Great staff, excellent food, beautiful scenery and much to do. Hiking, kayaks paddle boards, new gym/spa and whale watching kept everyone busy.

Just concluding a two week stay at the new Villa del Palmar outside of Loreto, Mexico. What an excellent resort for those seeking the beauty and solitude of Baha. The accommodations were spacious and relaxing. The staff is well trained and the focus is responding to the needs of the guests and insuring that their vacation expectations are well met. Bar and food service was excellent and enjoyable meals were had at their Market Restaurant.

A great place to enjoy the beauty and simplicity of Baha without the clamor of Cabo.

We spent a week at Villa del Palmar Islands of Loreto in February, and found it to be just what we were looking for. We wanted to just "kick back" and relax and this is the perfect place for that. We had been going to Cabo San Lucas for nine or ten years and found the increasing traffic and development not to our liking. This resort is isolated, to be sure, but that just added to its charm, in our opinion. The staff was very friendly and obliging and the activities that we arranged through their in-house activity center, Wild Loreto, were wonderful. We enjoyed hiking in the area around the resort, walking the beach and visiting Loreto. The drive (via free shuttle) into the town of Loreto is a bit long (45 minutes), but definitely worth it. The town is quiet but charming and has numerous restaurants and cafes, which we enjoyed visiting on those nights when we didn't dine at the resort or cook in our room. We can't wait to return next year!
