We just returned from this authentic Mexican restaurant and were delighted with the service and food. Yes, it is very modest, but don't pass this one by for something fancier. As others have noted, it is a family run establishment. The daughter speaks excellent English, and took the time to gently correct some of the Spanish mistakes I was making. Thank you!
The margarita was delicious and strong. I could never drink two. We had guacamole to start, loaded with jalapenos, and not dumbed down for the gringos. We had two different types of chili rellenos; one with shrimp and the other with cheese, both large meals that included beans and rice. They offer a very extensive menu that includes breakfast (desayuno), which starts at 10:00 a.m.. We are here for 12 days and will definitely go back often.
Note: For Mexico, at all of the restaurants in Loreto the prices are surprisingly high. We are easily spending $25-35 for every meal with 3-4 beers and usually no appetizer.
