We have stayed here in the past as it has a nice location and security for our vehicle. Next trip we will be looking for somewhere else. This accommodation is not worth more than $50 a night. You can hear everything that is being said in the next room. the beds are hard.

we stayed here because they said we could have our dogs---even though it is more expensive than most other hotels in loreto. However, the rooms are unattractive, no screens on the windows, noisy, and smell unpleasant. They always seem to promise one thing and then fail to follow through--or deny they ever said that. The staff is very nice--but they frequently say the management has "forbidden" them to do something. We left to go to La Paz and when we came back they said they no longer allow pets. Really, that was the only thing going for this hotel.....we wont go back.

My wife and I stayed at the Oasis for five nights in early November. We found the beach front room very spartan indeed, not even a picture on any wall. The concrete walls offered no barrier to any sound from adjacent rooms, even conversation at normal voice level was easily understood through the walls. On the other hand, it was great to be lulled to sleep by the waves lapping on the beach.
The staff at the desk was most helpful, arranging taxi service as we needed it and contacting tour services as we needed. Prior to our arrival, Roberto had contacted C and C Ground Services so we could arrange transportation from and to the airport, we very much appreciated Roberto’s effort. The dinning room and bar services were very good and again the staff was friendly and attentive to our needs.

The hotel is OK if you are just going down for the fishing, however, DO NOT purchase the meal plan under any circumstances for the following reasons. On our travel documents provided by Baja Motion tours, it specified, "Hotel Oasis Loreto- w/MEALS INCLUDED". Upon our arrival at the hotel, we verified that we had all meals included plan, and that the restaurant would open at 5AM sharp. The hotel confirmed the 5AM opening time since we were fishing and had purchased the all inclusive meal plan with them. No mention of any meal restrictions was made at this time. The first day at the Oasis Hotel restaurant was fine. On the second day, we were notified that our meal plan did not include any seafood dishes or fine cuts of meats. This left us with a choice of chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers, rice, beans, and tortias. We complained to the hotel management (Patty Zapata) that our meal plan was all-inclusive with No restrictions per our travel documents provided by Baja Motion tours. Hotel management told us that they had explained to our tour agent (Irma Montenegro) that their was a standard meal plan and a deluxe meal plan. We asked what the rack rate was for the deluxe meal plan. We ere quoted a rack rate of $52. a day. We paid $56.16 per person per day. Hotel management said that we would have to contact our tour agent to work out this problem. Since it a Friday afternoon, we would have to wait until Monday to try to make contact with our tour agent. (Meanwhile, no seafood or fine cuts of meat were allowed). Monday afternoon we made contact with Irma, who told us that to her knowledge, their was only one meal plan, and that we had already paid for it. We asked Irma to contact the hotel management to work out this issue. It took two more days to partially resolve the issue. One day before we left, the hotel added back the fine meat cuts and some of the seafood dishes. The problem is that out of our eight-day stay, six and a half of the days, we had a restricted menu. In addition, when we booked the hotel with the all inclusive meal plan, we were told that the restaurant would open up at 5AM for those hotel guests who were fishing. The first three days, the restaurant did open up at 5AM, day four, it was dark, and so I went to the hotel lobby. It was locked up, but a woman did slide open a window to ask what I needed. When I asked about the restaurant opening time, she replied, "maybe 6AM we open". We went fishing (which was great). Before going to bed that night, I reconfirmed with the front lobby that the restaurant would open up at 6AM instead of 5AM (we altered our fishing departure time to accommodate the hotel). The next morning 6AM, the restaurant was dark. Once again, I went to the lobby to inquire about the restaurant opening time. This time, the gal said, Si senior, maybe 7AM we open". We alter our vacation plans to suit the hotel and we still get shafted.

Also, do not stay in room 28 if it is hot. My air conditioner ran 24 hours a day, and my room temperature was 89 degrees every day. The room did cool down to 77 degrees every night. I complained twice to the hotel management about this. Each time Two maintenance personnel came out, checked it out saying "Si senior no Problema".

On a positive note, the hotel staff was friendly and they did all they could (within the limitations imposed by the hotel management) to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

I have been coming to Loreto since 1969 when I lived there for one semester of school. We originaly stayed at Ed Tabor's Flying Sportsmen Lodge south of town and I lived with the Manager of the hotel. Since the Flying Sportsmen closed we have been drifting between the La Pinta and the Oasis. I really like some of the staff at the Oasis and the hotel is kept up pretty well. The boats are right out front to go fishing and you can use captains other than the hotels to get a better deal. The owner Anna is always nice and we usually get the rooms that we want. I have to agree that sometimes the kitchen can be disappointing and the prices are higher than other hotels in the area, but I am still drawn to the Oasis from time to time. In defense of the "Loreto" lifestyle you have to remember that this was a tiny fishing village where there were no paved roads, siesta was every day, and the electricity was turned off from 10pm to 6am not that long ago. Overall I like the Oasis and would recommend it.

Spent 7 days in July at Hotel Oasis. It is an updated motel, so be ready for a gravel parking lot. Our room was at the back, behind the pool. You basically get exactly what you see on web site. Initial reaction to the orange bedspreads and orange curtain accents was less than favorable. However, the place really grew on us. Room was basic, but clean and the maids serviced the room every day. The tile floor made sense as all of our activities were outdoors and brought in sand. All the staff was in uniform and appeared to take their jobs seriously. We were treated well by everyone at Hotel Oasis-front desk, waiters, maids and bartenders. The new pool table is a plus, as it gave my teenagers a lot of hours of fun out of the heat. We liked the location of Hotel Oasis as it was a great location at the end of the main drag, but was easy access to a lot of places.
Loreto is a great little place. People were friendly and it is the "old Mexico" I remember. We walked most places. It is hot and humid this time of year. Being from Texas, we were fine. Spent 2 days out on the boat with Baja Outpost. Kiki and Leon were great. Baja Outpost just finished its pool, and that would be a nice place to stay. I would stay there or Hotel Oasis if I return. With Kiki, we snorkeled and saw dolphins and manta.
Spent one day riding mini-buggies with Baja Riders. They are new in town and were very helpful. The buggies are a blast to ride. Also went fishing with a local guy, Jose, arranged by a local captain, Tito. Fishing for Dorado is excellent. Great experience with all the different activites. On the way out of town, we stopped by the cabs and got my son's favorite hat he had left in a cab a couple of days earlier. Even the cabs were friendly and helpful. It is not a luxurious destination, but one with great experiences.
