“I didn't stay here but what a beautiful hotel/spa”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

I should tell you at the outset that we did not stay here. We were in town for a day as part of a cruise port stop. A friend of ours suggested we look at this place. So my review is ONLY of the architecture and interior appointments, not of actually staying there.
But for beauty it is incredible. I understand that the entry is located 2 floors beneath a rooftop swimming pool, and you can see its blue water shimmering above the lobby. The colors are simply amazing. All I can tell you is that when I go to Loreto next, I will book this spa/hotel for its beauty and proximity to the center of town alone.
People tell me I am a reasonably good photographer. But check out my snapshots. What incredible colors and styling.

Room Tip: Bring your camera and prepare to take LOTS of pictures of this place. Incredible beauty and fascina...

Went down to Loreto by private plane for a whale watching excursion to Magdalena Bay. We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The standard room was clean and well decorated. The shower was full force and had plenty of hot water. The architecture and decor of the property is very Baja and refreshingly eclectic. Not to be missed is the atrium/indoor courtyard which gives you a view of the pool...by looking up to the ceiling. The pool has a glass bottom which allows natural light to filter into the atrium. Very cool.
They used to have a bar at the hotel, but it's not open now. We never got a straight answer as to why it closed or when it will reopen.
The hotel is right on the public square where the community events such as dances and concerts occurt. Two blocks down a tree lined walking street is Baja's first and oldest cathedral. Numerous shops line the street as well. The water is 4 blocks away and the route to the ocean has several very good restaraunts.
We would stay here again.

We were on a group trip for gray whale watching and Posada de las Flores was the hotel pre-arranged for the before and after days of whale watching at another location several hours away. But, if we were going back to Loreto on our own, we would stay there again.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Our accomodations were comfortable, clean, attractive and well maintained. The room was a bit small but adequate. Unlike other travelers, we had no trouble with hot water, even with both of us taking long showers. We found that the AC cooled the room down nicely.

The location is convenient - centrally located with plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. within a short walk.

The lobby & hotel common areas are beautifully decorated & the rooftop pool looked really inviting. The breakfast buffet, located rooftop was very good (no hot food items). The rooftop is also a good place to relax in the outdoors and the views from there are quite nice. The plaza adjacent to the hotel is also pleasant and we were treated to an informal performance of local children dancing there the first night :)

I gave the hotel three stars because it is beautiful, conveniently located and locally owned. The room I stayed in was hot and stuffy and the "AC" only circulated the room air. I could not get hot water for a shower. If you value comfort, go elsewhere.

If you are planning to do a round trip through Baja California you should definitely stay in the Hotel Posada de las Flores in Loreto. For me it is one of the most beautiful Mexican style-hotels in Baja California. It is located in the center of Loreto. The hotel staff is very helpful and kind. To get ready for visiting some of the tourist places in Mexico, you can have a lovely breakfast with a multiplicity of nice choices here. For relaxing you will find a swimming pool at the roof. And do not forget to visit the boutique inside the hotel. They have got great staff like typical Mexican giveaways with a special local touch.

We were staying in Loreto for a couple of nights and then a week at Villa Del Palmar 20 miles out of town. While in town we notices this hotel, walked through it and wished we had known about it before. It is so charming and beautifully decorated. The rooftop glass bottom pool is really cool and the views beautiful from the rooftop terrace. The staff was professional and very gracious. The rooms were decorated after different flowers and were very charming, comfortable and clean. We opted to stay there on our last day and night in Loreto and can't wait to go back and stay again. Anyone who would like this place has something wrong with them. Centrally located in a very quaint, charming clean old town of Mexico with the culture all around and wonderfully gracious and proud people. Fabulous food in local restaurants and the best Margarita's ever!
We recommend very highly.
