“Windy”

Windy, hot and NO shade or trees during day along the malecon. Might have been a good location to watch the sunset

“Getting better.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2013

They have been working on the Malecon in Loreto for a few years. We were there in Feb. 2013 and there has been some progress made. The walkways are better and well lit. (although the lights coming up from the walkway are really bright and blind you). When it is finished it will be nice.

“Pretty views, funky smell”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2013

The Malecon has nice views of the water and some nice hotels/restuarants. However, the town has some sewage issues and it seems to pool in the pipes under the Malecon. Depending on the time and breeze, there can be odors in different spots. I think the best place to stay is in and around the plaza. It's only two blocks to the water.

“Lovely and real attempts to keep it clean”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

It was a lovely experience strolling down the family-friendly malecon There are some small beaches with palapas occupied mostly by locals. Not the nicest beaches, but convenient and okay for a family outing.

“Nice place for a walk or run”

They are extending the malecon to the edges of town. It will be fantastic when it's completed. Cab't wait to go back there and stroll along the Sea of Cortez
