The hotel amenities are first rate; great furnishings, linens, pool towels, etc. It was a very comfortable place to be. The hotel is right on the water overlooking the Sea of Cortez and the islands that are just off shore. It is a beautiful view to wake up to - the sunrises we saw were incredible. The food served at the hotel was very good and the service was great - they were very attentive. However, we went to many of the surrounding restaurants as we liked venturing out. The hotel pool was not heated, so it was a bit cool to really use a lot. But we were there in March - I am sure it is fine as the weather gets warmer later into the spring. Angie, the concierge was wonderful! She was always friendly, helpful and went out of her way to make sure everything went well for us. We went on a boat ride to the island which she aranged, and also rented the rhino and a dune buggy to tour around Loreto. That was fun, but an hour is definitely enough time. The one thing that was a bit negative was that there was some dispute about what we were to pay for our visit. When we checked in they asked us to pay in full and that amount was charged to our credit card was a better rate than we were quoted online 5 months earlier, which we assumed was due to the favorable change (from 10:1 to 14:1) in the exchange rate since we originally booked. We even asked then expressly, "So, this is all we owe?" And we were assured that was the entire charge for the stay. However, upon check out they told us they made a mistake and then charged us the difference. After quite a bit of discussion, and the desk agent going to the back room to apparently talk with a manager, we were disappointed that we could not make any headway and the manager would not come out and see us about this matter and the additional charge was made to our credit card, which we had left open for incidentals. Make sure you know exacly what you are paying - we thought we did and in the end this left a bad impression of the hotel after everything else had been so nice.
