“Beautiful hotel with mostly favorable service”
Reviewed May 2, 2009

The hotel amenities are first rate; great furnishings, linens, pool towels, etc. It was a very comfortable place to be. The hotel is right on the water overlooking the Sea of Cortez and the islands that are just off shore. It is a beautiful view to wake up to - the sunrises we saw were incredible. The food served at the hotel was very good and the service was great - they were very attentive. However, we went to many of the surrounding restaurants as we liked venturing out. The hotel pool was not heated, so it was a bit cool to really use a lot. But we were there in March - I am sure it is fine as the weather gets warmer later into the spring. Angie, the concierge was wonderful! She was always friendly, helpful and went out of her way to make sure everything went well for us. We went on a boat ride to the island which she aranged, and also rented the rhino and a dune buggy to tour around Loreto. That was fun, but an hour is definitely enough time. The one thing that was a bit negative was that there was some dispute about what we were to pay for our visit. When we checked in they asked us to pay in full and that amount was charged to our credit card was a better rate than we were quoted online 5 months earlier, which we assumed was due to the favorable change (from 10:1 to 14:1) in the exchange rate since we originally booked. We even asked then expressly, "So, this is all we owe?" And we were assured that was the entire charge for the stay. However, upon check out they told us they made a mistake and then charged us the difference. After quite a bit of discussion, and the desk agent going to the back room to apparently talk with a manager, we were disappointed that we could not make any headway and the manager would not come out and see us about this matter and the additional charge was made to our credit card, which we had left open for incidentals. Make sure you know exacly what you are paying - we thought we did and in the end this left a bad impression of the hotel after everything else had been so nice.

La Mision Loreto Hotel was the best choice for our group of friends when we visited Loreto. Our overall review is excellent. The only drawback is the location on the Malecon, which is the main street along the water. Balconies that face the Sea of Cortez and listen to traffic and cars racing into the evening. But, if one enjoys walking into town to eat, shop, visit Museum, etc.; it is a perfect hotel.
The staff are particularly outstanding. The food is excellent. The entire atmosphere is first class and tasteful, but no pretentions. Our group meets every year in Hawaii or somewhere in Mexico. La Mision's rooms are large, the shower is excellent, the finishes--i.e. wood, furniture, flooring, etc. are very nice. The pool area is lovely and relaxing. And, in addition, a few of us took advantage of an excellent relexology spa treatment.
We especially felt that the Concierge, Angie De La Espriella always gave us the correct information, great recommendations and outstanding service. Actually, again, all of the staff go out of their way to be wonderful.

This hotel is newly renovated and the staff is truly focused on customer satisfaction and making your stay as easy and pleasant as possible. The hotel is right on the water with a nice sidewalk all the way up and down the shoreline. It is an easy and pleasant walk to just about anywhere in Loreto.

This new hotel is the best in Loreto. You can walk to anywhere in town, but the food at the hotel can not be beat. Your room view is the best in town you look at just the blue Cortes and Carmen Island.Your two blocks from the Marina if fishing is your interest.
The best five days I have spent in Loreto in twenty-five years.

I am a travel agent who had the pleasure of staying at this newely rentovated hotel twice when we were in loreto. This 5 star property is by far worth every cent that you pay for the room. All accommodations face the sea of cortez and one can enjoy the view from their balcony. The pool is large and there is a pizza bistro outside for a nice snack. The central part of town is just a short walk away.
Hotel staff is friendly and attentive and they make you feel like they know you well.
Rooms are large and beautiful and t.v. programs are mostly in english.
One cannot go wrong with this hotel choice.

In the middle of the desert we meet up with two very humble men who own this fabulous hotel! We are treated to the most exceptional 4* hotel that I've seen outside of Canada. We arrived dirty and tired after a wonderful day of dirtbiking, feeling a bit embarrassed to enter such a high end building we were greeted with warm smiles and open arms telling us not to mind and just make ourselves at home. Every little detail is attended to in this location. Clean water, fabulous linnen / toiletries. Beautiful decks, glorious views of the ocean and sunrise, pool and spa to die for. Dirtbikers can look forward to super secure storage of bikes while enjoying some R&R. I can't wait to go back and I feel so fortunate to have met these two men! Thank you for a fantastic experience! We have been telling EVERYONE about you.
