It is difficult to rate a place that is great in many ways... So beautiful, and so very many issues!
This hotel is a beautiful jewel wedged between a loud landfill and loud street. There is a huge dump behind the hotel (concrete and dirt, not garbage), which has big noisy trucks all during the day, complete with loud beeping of commercial vehicles backing up. Constantly. (This does stop on the weekends (mostly). )
On the other side of the hotel is the Malecon, and at this far end of town the vehicles are speeding up to roar by. So it is really tough to relax at all during the day, with the constant noise.

The staff were all very kind and friendly.

The pool is gorgeous, but shallow throughout, great for kids but not much to swim. The “hot tub” (jacuzzi) is not. As each new guest arrives and asks about it, management says they will turn it up, and that it will get warmer later in the day. It never got warmer than maybe 80 F. (27C). Never. Finally after a few days they admitted that it never gets hotter than that.
When you ask for pool towels, you are told to check them out and return them for each use.... but often when you go to get one, they say it will be a few minutes because they are in the dryer...(when we finally got some, we just held onto them in spite of the “rule” to turn them in.) Clearly they do not have enough towels to go around.

The beds were comfy, with enough pillows. Nights were quiet enough, we could sleep fine with the AC on for a bit of white noise. The kitchen was adequate and we were provided with ice cube trays on request. There were no supplies (salt coffee etc).

Each room is furnished slightly differently, and all the furniture is functional and nice to look at, but not comfy for lounging.

The hotel is located at one far end of the Malecon so expect a good walk to get to the center.

The hotel restaurant has good food and tends to be busy so allow time if you plan to eat there.

There was plenty of hot water, and extra bath towels on request.

There were not enough plugs (only one available outlet anywhere near the bed), and our king bed had only one bedside table (another room we saw did have a table on each side of the bed). Our stove light was not working when we checked in, took a bit to get a new bulb, then when that did not work, another day till it was fixed. The room lighting is super dim. The ceiling fan had a short pull chain we had to stand on a chair to turn on and off. There were mystery wall switches that did not seem to turn anything on or off.

No counter at all in our bathroom, but other rooms did have that. No bathroom fan, and opening the bathroom window was a view to the hall and people walking by.

Hard tile floors and heavy wood furniture made loud screeches every time you scootch out your dining chair. We could hear that from adjacent rooms but were lucky to not have anyone do it too much (we also tried not to!)

Beautiful grounds, nice staff, but all superficial beauty, not comfortable.
So I guess if you only wanted to sleep here and never hang out during the day, it might be a good place. But for us, the many many small irritations just added up to be too much.

Loved staying at El Moro. The grounds are beautiful and the staff friendly. It's not far, walking distance, to restaurants in downtown La Paz. It's also still at the edgeish of town so easy to jump on the road and head to the beaches in the Balandra area. Great tamarind margaritas. :)

We were 4 couples who booked 4 rooms we got here and they offered us 2 rooms for 4 people each
Off course we didn’t accept and we had to leave the hotel
This was part of a longer trip with a stop in Cabo pulmo so first they overbooked and we had to change our dates to Cabo pulmo and they overbooked again offering us 2 rooms for 4 instead of 4 double rooms
They didn’t seem alarmed by this and said that’s all that is available the hotel is full
NEVER AGAIN

Speaking English was most inviting. Your staff's knowledge of the area and giving advice of things to do and see was very helpful. The room was huge and I would recommend the first floor. Walk right out and jump into the pool. The price of the room was excellant. In our room we had everything we could want including a full size frig.

Having to walk around the facility to leave my room when the shortest way to the lobby and parking is out the door leading to the pool. Unfortunately, they do not give you a key to that door. They need to spend time on maintenance of the room, like the shower head and lights.

Room tip: Get a room on the first floor. Easier access to the pool.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Nice clean home feel. Customer service was great. Located across the street from the malecon. Perfect location to go for a walk on the malecon. 20 mins away from Balandra. Carlos the manager was super nice and made sure we were taken care of. This is a family friendly hotel. We had young children here. We will be coming back soon.
