“Nice casual beachfront seafood restaurant”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

La Costa is recommended from many of the locals in La Paz. It is a casual open air restaurant where you can put your feet in the sand. We were there on a Wednesday when the band was playing 80s dance music. Lots of the expats were up dancing while children ran through the sand. It was a fun evening. The food was good but not outstanding. Perhaps I had read too many reviews. We had the ceviche starter, a shrimp meal and a fish meal. Having said that, it was a nice experience and I would go back there.

“A real find - beachfront dining that's not fancy”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

La Costa is a beachfront palapa Mexican / Seafood restaurant with sand floors and yummy fish filet meals (I love the garlic or veracruz preparations) for only 120 pesos. They're located near the Marina de La Paz and often hosts fund raisers for the gringo sailing community's charity events, afternoon Mexican Train Dominoes or Baja Rummy tournaments
It's not fancy. But it's a really special La Paz restaurant!

“Very fresh fish and affordable too”
Reviewed December 21, 2013 via mobile

First, the location shown on the map is wrong. The address is Navarro esquina Rangel frente al mar. Check their facebook page and you'll have the correct map, it is front of the restaurant Bandido. We liked the ambiance, the fact that it is off the noisy malecon and last but not least the food and service. The fish dishes are fresh and tasty, large servings and low prices. We spent 17 euros for machaca de mantarraya, crab and three beers!

“Outstanding local restaurant for seafood”
Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

As we were looking for a non-touristy restaurant for lunch, we asked some locals where they ate and the recommended La Costa. By the way, the location shown in the map is not correct. The restaurant sits on a small beach by a marina, not inland. It is all outside, under a big palm leaves roof and a canopy on the sandy beach. It is simple but very clean and we liked very much the atmosphere. The food was outstanding; we had fish of the day veracrucena, machaca of crab and machaca of sting ray. All served with tortillas to make nice tacos. Three beers and a flan for dessert, all under 40 bucks. Service was excellent.
We liked it so much that we went back for dinner on Wednesday evening; they had a fun band that added a lively touch to the outing. Dinner again was excellent; we had the seafood cocktail (which is very large and enough for sharing between 2 people), sting ray machaca and grilled fish of the day. With two glasses of wine and 2 beers, all for 45 bucks. Again, everything was excellent, tasteful, fresh, delicious. All in all, if you are looking for great seafood in a local, very pleasant, non-touristy environment, it could not get better than this. I wish we had a restaurant like this in San Diego; we would be going back every week!

“Good food, slow, friendly service”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

Don't come here unless you are super-relaxed. They offer a nice seafood selection and good prices as well as friendly service but it is veeerrrry slow. Note that I was there on Wednesday night and that's supposed to be their only busy night. If you're patient, I recommend it. If not, try somewhere else like Bandido's across the street.
