Have to say tho place hits all the spots! I stumbled upon it one afternoon - and the genuine heartfelt welcome (from Martin who serves as if he has a vested interest, only he doesn't) to come in a try the food was well, simply enticing - and i am so I glad a I did, I am sat here on my third visit - the food is outstanding - I only eat fish and each time I have been blown away! The margaritas by the way are pretty potent and yup! I'm on my second one - As a lone traveller i feel perfectly at ease coming here and well, hanging out - even if it is out of my budget, I am worth it ! Ps. The shot of tequila on the house is a real humbler too !

We loved the food here. We eat out A LOT back in Calgary and we have travelled extensively in Mexico so we know what we are talking about. Skip over the 3 x 100 peso drinks and order something with good quality booze. The Molcajete was excellent but order it without the sausage as it;s more like a hot dog than a sausage. Don't let this turn you off- the rest of it was excellent. The Arachera with Huitlacoche was outstanding and is something I have never seen on any other MExican menu. It came in at less than $14
We brought our kids there as well and each of them was able to find something they liked. Our 12 yr old is very fussy.
Martin looked after us very well. We are now in San Jose del Cabo and have yet to find anything as good.

We had been asking around our marina (Palmira Marina) about a good place for dinner. Catrina's was mentioned by more than one person. We found a quaint little sidewalk restaurant with excellent, friendly service and the best mocajetes we've ever tried. Had to turn down the desserts but not the tequila shots. The interaction with our waiter and the manager (owner?) just made it a better evening. The guacamole was excellent, too.

A wonderful way to spend the evening - you'll agree, I am sure.

Great service from Marteen and for our party of 9, the refreshing tequila at the end of our meal was a bonus. Very accomadating to the two children in our group.

We were restaurant shopping on a Sunday night and walked into a lane way where a number of restaurants were located, among them, Catrina's. We were called over by the waiters, who at that time had nothing to do but "work" the passersby for prospective clients. We unfortunately bit on the promises of good food, good service, and a high rating on Trip Adviser. Big mistake! The service was all over us for the first ten minutes when the restaurant was empty but as more people fell victim, attention turned else where. The sangria was unimaginative and served as if a glass of juice, no garnish, nothing. The beer selection was minimal. The bean salsa served with totopos was "complimentary" as if we were getting something for free (every restaurant in Mexico provides this prepared one way or another for "free"). The food was served in a reasonable time and was probably the best part of the experience. The four cheese fettuccine with chicken was tasty but over powered by the chilies sprinkled all over the top. The pescado Veracrus (prepared with yellow tail) was ok. The sauce was good and served in a moderate amount so the plate was not swimming. Once served however, the waiters disappeared. By now the two on duty were serving 18 others and we could wait. Busing was slow and trying to get the attention of at least one to present the bill impossible. When it was finally presented by waiter number two, who up to that point had had little to do with us, the drinks had been left off. Another 10 minute wait to get the bill corrected. The bill was now presented by waiter number one, who had taken our order. I paid by cash and now waited for another 10 minutes for my change. The waiter then came back and said I didn't give them enough money. Although I was certain I had, who was I to argue in a full restaurant? My wife had grown so frustrated by the time the bill had been presented, that she had returned to our hotel. I didn't have anyone to verify that I had paid the right amount so I paid the additional amount requested. I now waited 15 minutes to get my change! In total 45 minutes to get a bill and get it paid, with the sense that I had been scammed in the process. Give this place a wide berth if time is an issue or you are intending to pay with cash! Vastly over priced for the quality of the food and ridiculously so for the service.

We do regret this bad experience on our restaurant, we will do all our efforts on our service, normally we try to treat every one te best we can, unfortunately some times things don't come out the way we want...
sorry,

if you come back some time, please talk to us and we will make it up to you, ask for me or the owner, my name is Ángel Jorge Chávez Rodríguez. And the Owners name is Thelma Ochoa....
PS.-- By the way, we are investigating the change comment.
