Fantastic restaurant with cordial attentive service. The chef's brother is a fisherman so fresh fish is guaranteed. The margaritas were awesome, as was the grilled lobster.

Don't miss this ice cream shop. We were in La Paz for 5 days and tried a new flavor (or two) every day. There were several ice cream stores on the Malecon but we never made it to another shop after we had our first scoop here. The shop also lets you sample as many flavors you want to try as you try to struggle to make a decision about what flavor to order. The ices and ice creams where all delicious. Guava, strawberry, and coconut were our favorites.

The locals call this the "Polka Dot" ice cream store. It is a favorite with both locals and tourists. Located directly across from the Municipal Pier on the Malecon. There is outside seating in front of the store or across the Malecon. There are other smaller locations around town, but this is the original with the best selection.

La Fuente is truly a landmark in La Paz. It's a true Mexican ice cream shop. They make all of their delicious ice creams on-site. There are tons of flavors, from some standards like vanilla and chocolate...tons of fruit flavors... as well as more regional flavors. My favorite is their pistachio. Ideally located right on the Malecon, there isn't a better location for people watching, or taking a stroll along La Paz bay while eating your ice cream. They also sell nachos(look like movie theater style) smoothies, fruit juices, liquados, and such...but the main attraction for tourists and locals alike...is their ice cream. Their small cup runs about $2.25 w/the current exch rate. A little steep by American standards, but a great value in my eyes. The small is actually sufficient, as it is so rich. There isn't a price break for ordering the next size up...so order some different flavors in the smalls to sample with your friends. Visiting La Paz, and not eating ice cram here...is like visiting Rome, and not eating Gelato.
