“WOW!!! Snorkeling with whale sharks!”
Reviewed December 26, 2011

Espiritu Baja picked us at our hotel -they were super punctual- and the driver was kind and cheerful. He drove us to their HQ where they were ready to help us gear up for the adventure. The staff quickly gave us the wetsuits that fit us as well as the fins. They were very helpful with my 11-year-old son and helped him figure out what suit could fit him (not too easy as he's rather tall). As soon as we were ready, we simply crossed the boulevard and the "Malecon" to the beach, always escorted by our guide Sergio. The boat was waiting for us. We set out for the open sea and Jesus -our captain- quickly spotted two whale sharks. His well-trainned eye immediately made him tell us "Let's look for a larger one, plus, those were not too quiet". After a couple of minutes of delightful views, Jesus spotted an eight-metre whale shark, he circled her and stopped the engine. Sergio helped my son with the mask and the snorkel and patiently instructed him how to use it (it was his first time in three years). We jumped into the cold water, but quickly gut used to the temperature. The humongous creature was barely two metres away from us. We were able to see her up close. It was the greatest eco-experience we have had as a family. We felt safe and looked after all the time; both, Sergio and Captain Jesus kindly answered all our questions and Sergio even took some great pictures (I will upload some as soon as I get back home). We are surely going back for more with Espiritu & Baja Tours! We're looking forward to watching the grey whales and visiting Espiritu Santo Island next time as this was a rather quick and improvised adventure -we were in La Paz on business, actually-. Totally recommendable!

Travelled to La Paz with my adult son because he wanted to go kayaking around the islands. The beauty of the islands is spectacular and breathtaking! We went out on a boat with about 10 people and stopped in several spots to swim and snorkel. Our guide Alan and captain Cesar were the best. Lunch was provided under an awning in the afternoon including a very delicious ceviche we found out was made by Alan, as well as sandwiches and fruit. They worked very hard to show us all the sites. We were the only ones kayaking. We went out after lunch around several inlets and were picked up later by the boat. It was really great. They pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. We were picked up at 9:30 a.m. and came back to shore around 4 or 4:30. All snorkeling equipment is provided if you want.

“One of the best days ever”
Reviewed April 23, 2011

We were picked up from our hotel and took us to get our life jackets and snorkel gear . Capt Max and Martin then took us off in the boat . We were taken all over the island and shown all sorts of things and the legends behind them . We went into caves , saw the famous beaches We swam with Sea Lions WOW WOW WOW!! what an experience that was . We had an amazing lunch on the beach cut short by a pop of whales passing . Capt Max was happy to quickly pack everything away and follow the whales for us . He was very careful of the whales and the distance we got which I liked . To top it off we saw dolphins . Really I cannot say enough good about this tour . Safety was important to them which is nice to see , being a sailor I often see a lot of dangerous at sea behavior . Thanks Max and Martin ......

“Fantastic - Really recommended!”
Reviewed March 20, 2011

We took two trips with Espiritu y Baja; to see the Gray whales in Magdalena bay from la Paz, and to swim with sea lions on Isla Espirito Santos. Both trips were well organised, ran to time, were really fun and were lead by enthusiastic bilingual guides who did everything they could to ensure you had a wonderful time. Especially Jose Luis who is clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about the landscape and wildlife. They really delivered on what they promised and we saw everything we hoped to and more! Highly recommended!
