Heard about this place and found it to be a great time and dinner. Everything we ordered was done on an outside wood grill...bread was grilled and so was our main dishes...really tasty, friendly service, lovely courtyard...definitely try this place..I'm really fussy and this did not disappoint......enjoyed everything!

I had diligently researched restaurants in La Paz to ensure we had a lovely evening for our 38th wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were greeted and shown to the patio area however it was a chilly evening and the only table available was in a dark corner so we chose a table in the bar area and were given menus to review. When the waiter arrived his first comment was to tell us all of the menu items that WEREN'T available! And these items were extensive! I ordered linguini with shrimp and it arrived with linguini so 'al dente' that it was almost necessary to use a knife to eat it.... the five shrimp were tasty but very small. Just a disappointing evening meal wise.

My wife and I have been to La Paz several times, but this was the first time we went to Tres Virgenes. We'll be going back! The flavors of the Mesquite grilled shrimp and risotto I ordered and the chicken my wife had were wonderful. The flan and creme brulee were perfect. The waiter was attentive. A perfect evening sitting in the courtyard with soft music and the smells coming from the grill...All the other reviews are right, this place is the best!

All of the elements of a perfect dining experience come together at Tres Virgenes. Step into the former governor's home from an unimposing street exterior, pass by the impressive bar and welcoming bartender, and make your way to the expansive rear terrace and gardens. Twinkling lights, unobtrusive background music, and a crackling mesquite fireplace/grill set the stage for a delightful evening. Our party of six enjoyed grilled bread, an amazing shrimp, scallop, and avocado appetizer to share, table-made caesar salads, and mesquite grilled steaks and fish accompanied by a nice selection of side dishes. My perfectly grilled swordfish was drizzled with a tangy romescu sauce and served atop risotto and spinach. We lingered over dessert and after dinner drinks as we did not want to break the spell of a lovely evening with friends.

This restaurant, a few block up from the malecon is perfect for a nice dinner. The outdoor back patio is beautiful with the outdoor grill keeping it warm on cooler nights. We ordered 3 entrees to share among 4 and it was more than enough food. I have to recommend the black pasta with calamari...very yummy. But really, any of the seafood is fresh and yummy.
