Located waterside in Costa Baja Marina, Azul Marino has excellent and unusual food and drink. The margarita is salted with Tajin (spicy salt); the ceviche includes grapefruit and jicama bits; the pizzas have thin crusts and interesting toppings. We had excellent duck breast the last time we visited. The wine list has a nice selection of Mexican and South American wines, as well as some from California. It's worth the trip for either lunch or dinner!

If Azul Marino was in San Diego I would eat there regularly. This is world-class food. Is the service possibly different than you might be used to in the States? Possibly. But, it's Mexico and those of us who visit Mexico regularly know that the servers are not focused on turning tables, so things go slow. For example, they will never bring you your check until you ask.
The owner, Cristina, served her time in fine dining restaurants in San Francisco, and it shows. I own a condo down the street in the La Concha resort and only know her through eating at Azul Marino. Without exception, the many people I have taken to Azul Marino found it to be fantastic. Most trips we eat there at least two times. In fact, in my opinion there are two "must visit" restaurants in La Paz. This one and Buffalos. This is a legitimate review. Skip

We have eaten at Azul Marino since they opened. However, recently we spent two months living in La Paz. We ate at Azul Marino a minimum of two nights a week - and also did take out. The tuna tartare is one of the best we have eaten. And, one should ask about the sashimi choice that may not be on the menu - it is also fantastic. The chef, Cristina, is outstanding and is more than willing to adjust her creations to your taste. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They have a very nice wine list also. I might also add that we dine out a minimum of 3 nights a week and are always looking for great restaurants.

IMHO this restaurant is way over rated - like someone famous must of said it was good so therefore no one wants to diagree!! Have eaten there 3 times (three strikes and you're OUT!) Pizza as an example has no taste what so ever - the seafood to my surprise was IMHO not fresh, service was just ok - not worth the visit.
The view of the Marina - YES----The food - NO NO NO!

Perhaps my favorite restaurant anywhere, and certainly the best in La Paz. The chef, Cristina Kiewek, is a culinary artist. Her standard menu is awesome, and as if that weren't enough, the weekly specials menu is endlessly creative. The service is also perfect, and the environment very pleasant.
