We had only hit the tip of beach walking last year so this year we could take the time to wander.
The locals have many different activities on the beach side of the malecon. We watched a beach volleyball set, fishermen, rollerblading, biking etc.
It is a lot to explore. We were not in a real shopping mood, but the people are friendly, even the tourists. Plus there are many food cart vendors as well.
We found that the real shopping area is a few blocks down towards the town. They were brightly lit (the ones with a lot of windows) and there were some big name shops; such as Coach or name designers [I can't truly remember - as I said I wasn't into shopping 'Americano'.

Thank Tom G

We loved walking the Malecon and taking a drink there. It got lively after dark but very serene during the day.

Enjoyable waterfront walks on the Malecon with varying views of the harbor, great sunset photography opportunities, enjoyable statues and even humorous trash cans! Multiple lively restaurants with great food and wonderful atmosphere. Sweet Ice cream shops next to great Mexican tile/ fabric and curio shops. Clean and very enjoyable. Easy access to the town's attractions and transport.

We enjoyed the Malecon each night before and after dinner. Loved watching all the kids on their bikes and families together!

On of the nicer Malecons I've witnessed in Mexico. Beautiful design with the waterfront on one side and nice stores on the other with a nice well maintained street in the middle.
