Pros: Great Location, cute rooms on top floor.

That said, it is true that this a bargain of a hotel. However, there were some needles in our haystack stay. When we arrived, they only had two of four rooms on our four room reservation. Apparently, they did not notice the paid for, other two rooms attached to the reservation in the email they provided for us for our payments. The staff quickly accommodated us, but the hotel is very popular during June vacation time. The first two rooms were on the top floor, facing the sea, and were very bright and cheerful. The two forgotten rooms were dark, but faced a quiet courtyard. All rooms have air conditioning and like all beach hotels. You cannot beat the price for this. The rate also included toast, juice and coffee at the restaurant next door in the morning. We added eggs for a couple of pesos, and the tables faced the Malecon and the beach--spectacular setting.

The beds in the rooms were on the hard side. But each room can easily sleep four people. Wifi is included, as is cable tv, most stations are dubbed or in Spanish. There are tons of sports. If you keep scrolling the TV -- when you get to channels in the 90s, there are non-subtitled, english shows, like Friends.

It was so nice to come outside in the evening and be on the Malecon for a stroll. Just lovely.

For a one night stay, you cannot beat this bargain, especially if you are off to the islands in the morning.

Room tip: Pick rooms on top floors facing the Malecon and Ocean

Pros: Great location.
Cons: Needs updating. Slow water in showers.
This hotel is right on the waterfront. Great restaurants are within walking distance. Shopping is within walking distance. Friendly staff and clean.

We love this place and have been going here for 20 years. Little has changed - it is in a terrific location and the best bargain in town. Rooms will run 50-60$ with a decent pool, very clean rooms and one of the best views of the bay in town. Be sure to ask for a room that overlooks the bay.
We also appreciate the underground guarded parking. We usually have a rental car in La Paz and never have to worry about parking on the street.
There is a great 2nd floor viewing deck where you can watch the sunset, drink terrific margaritas from the bar and photograph frigate birds sailing by.
This is actually our favorite hotel on the entire peninsula. You will not find a better location in La Paz to take in the local scene.

The Perla is in a great position on the Malecon of La Paz. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with good facilities, although the WiFi is patchy. The staff are friendly and helpful and everything worked fine.

Meals are served in an accompanying restaurant La Terraza (I couldn't work out if they were connected or not) which offered a wide choice of "traditional" foods as well as regular burgers, steaks etc and a range of breakfasts. All were well prepared, tasty and good value.

We would be happy to stay here again in the future.

Room tip: Get one that doesn't face the street to avoid traffic noise.

Over all nice place to stay, fairly reasonable compared to everywhere else. staff was overly friendly and accommodating. One warring don.t stay in a suite street side there is a man hole cover that is not fitting correctly and you hear every car that goes over it ALL night long ha.
