Not many people, great walking on the shore. Mushroom rock interesting but smaller than expected. All in all a nice place to visit

We spent our vacation in Todos Santos and decided to drive to La Paz and visit some of the beaches in the area. Balandra Bay was worth the drive. I didn't anticipate the winding roads along the cliffs. There were some amazing views on the drive. Balandra reminded us a little of our trip to Isla Holbox because the water is so shallow that you can wade across the beach. Lots of crabs and some interesting rock formations, but the highlight is the water itself. There is a food truck available and some vendors make it to the beach. No bathrooms however. Be aware that stingrays can be an issue in warmer weather.

The knee-deep water throughout Balandra Bay is unlike anything we've ever seen. You'll be drawn to a peninsula on your right. As you round it, you will see a rock formation in the distance. You'll only need to navigate the rocks a short while, then you can walk on the beach out to some interesting (and highly photographic) rock formations, Don't forget to watch where you are walking, because there are some neat shells to be found.

Probably one of the prettiest beaches I have ever visited! Thoroughly enjoyed swimming, kayaking, snorkeling and walking to the mushroom rock. No bathrooms however and the local food for sale was not advised by our friends who live there. Come prepared as you will not want to leave!

No waves, shallow water, and very few people, especially on a weekday. Kids played for hours on the flat beach. Balandra also offered shelter from the wind on days when other beaches wouldn't have been much fun.
