Balandra beach was essentially deserted :) The water clear and perfect for snorkeling. It was my fist time snorkeling...I was NOT dissapointed!

Georgeous spot with powder white sand . Water can be shallow due to tides . Bugs get bad towards sunset so best to head out before . Be careful about the Stingrays - do the shuffle and you will be ok . A good place to kayak and spend a little time under a Palapa .

This beach is a short bus ride from La Paz. The beach is what everyone thinks of when you think of a beach in Baja California, white sand and clear blue water. This is the quieter of the two beaches but calmer water as well. It wasn't crowded the day we went and there was only one taco truck so bring you're own food and drink when you come.

Yes a great beach but not so sure that I would put it in the worlds top ten. You dont have to go far for a better one. Just south at the bottom of La Ventana Bay opposite Isla Cerralvo walk north to the Light House end after parking at the old hotel-simply stunning.

We had the misfortune of getting stung by a stingray here. Apparently the fishermen clean there fish in this bay and this as well as the calm waters is ideal for stingrays.
My son was stung and it is incredibly painfull, local remedy is to immerse the foot in very hot water with viniger ( or urine ) , then try and work out the barb by massage a gentle motion towards the exit wound.
Shuffle your feet on the bottom here as they bury themselves in the sand and are perfectly hidden.
Other than this it really is a spectacular place.
