Basically this is a cluster of a dozen small cafés serving fresh seafood from the adjacent large seafood market on the Ensenada waterfront. Mercado Negro, or Mercado de Mariscos, whatever people call it, is a good place for family outings, especially on weekends. All the cafés have similar menus featuring shrimp or mixed seafood cocktails, fish or shrimp tacos, ceviche and tostadas, crab, squid, and platters of whole fried fish. Tables have eight or ten sauces in big goblets, and plenty of spicy condiments. Tasty food at budget prices.
