“Hang over cure”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

Spicy and very good. A local favorite for curing hang overs. The tortillas are home made and the service is good. I prefer the beef birria. The lengu tacos are also very good.

“Authentic and reasonable”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

Great food, wide selection of birria which, by its heavily spiced nature, isn't for everyone's taste. Other items are available and also quite delicious. All the sides and condiments, tortillas, beans, onions, cilantro, etc. are well-prepared. Several chile sauces running the whole range from mild to blazing are offered. My family is bi-national with strong connections to Guadalajara and the general opinion is that the birria here would compete well with that served in Jalisco. Mostly a crowd of locals with few tourists. Excellent service by a gracious professional staff.

“My first goat birria and it was excellent.”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

Great place. Even though it is right off the tourist street, it is full of locals and very few gringos.

Cold beer and birrias with all the trimmings - excellent tortillas, radishes, onions, salsas.

The meat was perfectly cooked and in a broth that is indescribably rich and flavorful.

The birrias are served in two sizes, both of which are huge. We shared a small and could barely finish it.

When we got the check, we thought they had made a mistake because it was so low.

Highly recommended, particularly if you just done with fish tacos and want some incredible meat.

“Excellent Birria and Chips”
Reviewed October 12, 2013 via mobile

They have these chips, they're nothing like I've seen before. So crunchy and light.... Paired with their salty and spicy salsa - it's seriously awesome.

The service is fantastic, some of the friendliest around!

Now, the Birria de Chivo... Generous amounts of goat, tender and not too 'goaty' haha. Added the salsa, onions and cilantro, squeeze of line and the flavors come alive. This is one of my most favorite foods in Mexico.

Oh and another plus: free wifi!

“apAuthentic local food - try the Chivo”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

Just 1 block off the main shopping avenue, this is a great change from the normal tourist traps. They specialize inBiria Chivo, a goat stew that is not gamey. They serve a nice salsa and chills plus several accompaniments for the Birria such as onions, cilantro, etc.

They have a good selection of fresh juices and Mex beers. The strolling Mariachis will serenade your table for $5.

It's the real deal Mex spot, and very comfortable, even for families.
