We stayed at Hotel Estero the first week of September and had such a great time. We had an ocean view, with a breeze coming through the doors and cooling off the room. The staff was friendly and helpful. We asked for extra coffee and we had more than enough the next morning.

On Tuesday night, there was a fantastic 3 piece band and we danced under the stars. Our dinner that night was outstanding; fettucini with shrimp. The pool and spa were really terrific with palm trees swaying to the breeze coming from the ocean.

Both Phil and I would strongly recommend this place. I would say the only negative comment would be that there wasn't an AC. But honestly, with the ocean breezes, it was really perfect.

I was really excited to take a trip down to Baja with 9 other family members; Aunts, uncles, cousins. We had checked out the website and also tripadvisor, which both looked great. And then- we arrived.

After a lond drive, we wanted to relax and unwind. We were appalled when the room we walked into had moist carpets and had a lingering musky smell. Only one of the keys given to us worked and we began to get the idea that this wasn't going to be the greatest stay. I called the front desk after two of our members started getting sore throats and they moved us to a room with no carpets on the first floor.

This room had extensicve mildew problems all over the restroom which deeply bothered my mother and aunt since they are in healthcare and are sticklers about those kind of details. They came in to remove the mildew and traces were still apparent.

Then we get horrible service at the restaurant, but get the bill comped. Later that afternoon, our waiter from earlier harasses us at the pool in the least discreet manner saying that the bill is being taken out of his paycheck and it is burden for this to happen to him, and how we should be guilty about the instance. This is where I go crazy because I have NEVER had service like this before. So I speak to the manager and we get refunded the nights we had problems, which was 3 nights of our 5 night stay.

My family and I were deeply disappointed, especially since we do not get together that often. Not only did we not enjoy the hotel, but the beach is TINY. It is a little stretch that the hotel closed off. Hardly a resort, hardly a retreat.

We have been going to Ensenada and Estero Beach Resort off and on for a number of years. Sadly the facility is looking a little long in the tooth. Our bathroom should have been refurbished 5 years ago. The shower head fell off, there was no stopper in the sink, and plaster was falling off of the ceiling. If you like LOTS of kids in your pool with lots of inflatable toys, parents ambivalent to their children's behavior, and empty ice machines this is the place for you. Our reservations were handled smoothly, employees were friendly, and the location/setting is great. Perhaps the clientele shift is different during other parts of the year but we miss the "old" ambiance.

The stay at this resort was a pleasant surprise. The grounds are well kept with a feeling of security the moment you enter the property.
The only improvement I could see would be to serve more authentic Mexican dishes in its lunch and dinner resturant menu.
I will book other stays at this resort in the future.

My boyfriend took me here the weekend of July 25th 2008 for my birthday. We had an amazing time we loved loved the swim up bar. Our room faced the pool to the front and the ocean to the back. my only complaint would be that the swim up bar closes at 7:00pm and the hot tubs were full of kids until later it would be nice if the kids werent aloowed in the hot tubs. We loved the staff they were so friendly and you can save money by going into to towm and buying your own drinks and you can bring them to the pool, they will even supply you with limes salt and cups for free just tip your bartenders. The Margaritas were great my boyfriend fell in love with the pina colodas and at 5 bux a drink it was worth it we really didnt spend that much money at the resort the cab rides to ensenada will kill you 20bux each way because the resort is so far off bu if you makes friends with a neighbor you can share a cab like we did and save some money. I will stay here again the dinners were to die for and the omelets were the best!!

Because we read so many positive reviews, we were sorely disappointed. This would be a two star hotel in the US, and at $150/night we won't return! Like many places in Mexico, the hotel needed a proper cleaning and routine maintenance. Our bathroom had never been updated as evidenced by the mildew in the shower. The beach consists of a very small area which was crowded by the RV tourists who share the facility. The patio outside the room was very nice.

Estero Beach Resort is great place place a few miles south of Ensenada, Mx. The resort is beautiful and well maintained....we were very pleased. Our room faced the pool with a clear view to the ocean. No A/C but that was not a problem with the ocean breeze and very mild temperatures. We ate breakfast at the restaurant each day...the Sunday brunch was awesome. Omelets and Gorditas cooked fresh on an ocean side grill!!! The hotel staff were great and very helpful......thank you.

The sea lions or seals accross the bay every morning were really cool.

Just off the property there were a few great places to eat. Marios has a full menu with a superb Carne Asada meal and very tender filets. Tacos el Pablano has hand made tortillas for the tacos, tender beef, and some hot salsa.......perfecto!!! These restaurant were no more than a mile from the main entrance to Estero.

A must see is La Bufadora....it is a short drive south of the hotel and well worh the visit. Great fish tacos at Los Panchos.

The beach for the "Estero Beach Resort" left a little to be desired. It was 50 or 60 yards wide and maybe 20 yards deep during high tide. The poolside bar and store were not opened after the weekend.
