“Umpteenth visit- but still love it.”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

The best time to go is just as high tide comes in- a very unique experience! We retired in Ensenada about 25 years ago and still enjoy a visit to the Bufadora. The view from the "end of the bay" is really spectacular and the seafood is excellent' I love sitting outside with a drink, some food and the incredible view.

“Much more worthwhile than I had thought”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

Our weekend cruise stopped in Ensenada and my first inclination was just to stay on the ship. I have been to Mexico several times and thought there wasn't much more to see. But the ship's excursion wasn't that expensive, so we decided to take a chance.

I was so wrong!!!

First of all our guide - Belen - was outstanding. She has a great pride in her country and is very knowledgeable about its history and especially her city of Ensenada. Our first stop was La Bufadora. While I have seen blow holes before, it was the shops, surroundings and people that made this special. I would definately recommend going to La Bufadora and if you are lucky enough to have a guide like Belen, it will be extra special.

“Don't miss La Bufadora - Best seen at hight tide!”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

One of a few blowholes in the world. It is a short drive from Ensenada. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area. This is a "must see" if you are in the Ensenada area. The best time to view is at high tide, and if there is a surge in the ocean, so much the better. I live near it and always take company to enjoy it. There is a small charge for parking.

“Like seeing the world's largest ball of string - meh!”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

Like most of the reviews here, I agree that it wasn't much. Perhaps if you go when the tide is coming in, it's more spectacular. We waited for 30 minutes or so (hey, we rode a 4-wheel ATV 26 miles to see this thing! Rent a car, NOT an ATV!) it only had a few good snorts and with lots of mist. No geyser.
The view of the ocean along the way was beautiful, so stopping for a few minutes to take some pictures will be worth your time.
As for the many vendors lining the way to La Bufadora, one summed that experience up the best. "Hey, come to our shop! We rip you off for less!" Don't pay the asking price, they expect you to dicker.
Oh, and they charge you for the use of the filthy restrooms there, as well as parking. If you must use one, try to use one in one of the two big restaurants. They were decent and free if you ate.
I can't remember the name of the restaurant we ate at, but it had a "monkeys in trees" decor. It was really very good and we shared the "giant burrito" and it was more than enough.
Overall, it's one of those places that may be worth visiting once. Maybe!
