We were very happy with our stay at Peace Laguna. Friendly staff. Reasonable room, although we wish now we had booked a cottage as the room we had was on the top floor of the building, the view over the cliffs was nice and peaceful however we had to climb 4 sets of stairs which was pretty exhausting after a night out. Breakfast was ok, however If we were returning we would rather eat out at the many breakfast outlets as the service at the hotel could be improved. Easy walk to the beach. A quick stroll to the shopping area. Generally a good stay and we would return. No problems encountered.

The Peace Laguna Resort is a good and comfortable resort with a fairly good location. From the street side there is about 500 meters to the beach but the hotel has also a beach access through vacant lot (200 meters) so it is not necessary to walk through the busy street every time.

We stayed in Superior/deluxe cottage on upper floor. The room is very spacous with a nice bathroom with jacuzzi. The room has also a beautiful bay window and bench. And the outdoor shower under stary sky is amazing. However the resort is not that new anymore so in our room there were few problems/faults. The tv for instance was a little hasardouz since it did not have the button that turns the tv on, so you had to stick your finger inside the tv to turn it on. The safety deposit box and air conditioning had also some problems, but the staff came to fix them whenever needed. The aircon was a disappointing since it basicly had only on or off modes, so if it was on it was freezing.

The resort had three nice pool areas. Those were nothing special but good to have around.

All in all the resort was a nice relaxing bubble in other wice busy Ao Nang and probably on of the best resorts there. For us peace loving people it was a needed get away since there was guite many tailors ans other traders pulling your sleeve around Ao Nang. So we liked the resort but not that much Ao Nang. Ao Nang worked for us for a week since it is easy to go island hopping from there.

This was our second holiday in Ao Nang. We were hoping to stay at the Pakasai again but were unable to book with them for the weeks we wanted. Something we felt very disappointed about until we arrived at the Peace Laguna. We were looking for somwhere quiet but nearby the shops and beach and that was certainly what we got. We stayed in one of the private chalets. Spacious, clean, firm but comfy bed, deck chairs on the balcony over the lake, clean pool nearby. We never heard another person while in our room. Even out on the balcony the surrounding atmosphere was tranquil. Barely aware of anyone around unless we saw them in passing and that was rare. So if you are looking for spacious, comfy, central, quiet and peaceful, any of the accommodation styles at the Peace Laguna provide these elements.

The staff at breatfast or the restaurant/bar/reception were a delight with their service, smiles and laughter once we started greeting them with our hands together (as in prayer mode) while saying Sawadee Ka or kup if you are male. Their form of hello. Or Korp Koon Ka or kup as a thankyou for whatever they did for us. Their response to us whenever we saw them, as a result, was so warm and delightful it was worth the effort to acknowledge them this way. Found this to be the case with most of the Thai locals as well. Without these greetings the response from the staff and locals would have been cool and unfriendly.

On the subject of breakfast. We looked forward to it each day. The view from the dining area, overlooking the chalets/lake/limestone cliffs is special. We appreciated the selection of hot and cold foods - fresh and cooked. Sitting and savouring while staring out at the scenery.

Whenever we ate at the on site restaurant or ordered room service we were never disappointed. The food and price is very very good.

Some reviews mention the place looking tired. We were pleasantly surprised to find it didn't. It looks as it does in the brochures. Everything was in decent condition considering the level of use and some things constantly exposed to the heat, humidity, rain. All pools were crystal clear. The fittings and fixtures in the chalet were all maintained well. The one thing we would have liked to have had different was the foot paths throughout. They're uneven and not well lit at night. Tripped a few times as a result of not staying focused on every step.

Via the back gate the beach is literally a three minute walk. From the foyer the shops are about the same time frame to get to.

We can highly recommend the Golden Beach Resort Beauty Salon Massages nearby. The staff are highly trained and focused. Both of us work as massage therapists. We've tried many establishments in Ao Nang. For consistent good massages at a very reasonable price while listening to the sound of the waves and a gentle sea breeze passing over you for very little cost this is a gem. They have happy hour between 10am to 2pm. All massages are then half price. You can have an hour long Thai Massage for AUD $3.30. Reflexology for AUD $5. Oil massage for AUD $6 as examples.

Overall, unless we came across another hotel with similar attributes to the Peace Laguna for a better price, we'd stay there every Ao Nang holiday.

Wishing you a great Ao Nang stay.

We were lucky enough to book online with a special low season prices. I have stayed at this place back in 2002 and was glad to be back here again. We loved the lime stone mountain in the back ground of this resort, plus there's 3 lovely pools that you could choose from. I wouldn't recommend the cocktail @ the resort thou...I don't think they know how to make one* (That's my only negative comment I have). A a walk to the beach is only 5 mins away! We will surely be back @ this resort! Thanks!

We were on a budget trip but wanted to splurge here and there. Being low season we thought it was a great opportunity to stay in a luxury resort at a lower cost, although still expensive considering. Probably the thing I found most annoying is this was our second resort we decided to splurge on and like the first, they both had amazing websites with cottages on the water and beautiful landscapes. But the websites must only show their top rooms. There are 5 room types and we paid for a Deluxe room which was the 2nd most expensive but still did not have a view of the amazing mountain and only a view of the back section of the lagoon. And the cottages were nothing like what they look like on their website. I've looked at their website again but even knowing now, it is still deceiving. The only pictures they show from the outside are the Private cottages (most expensive ones.) But when you book a Deluxe cottage even though you may be paying less, you still have only seen vision of these ones and expect something similar. The photo's show nice decks over the water but ours were set back and just a view of the lagoon. The deck chairs were ridiculously old style looking. . The girls on reception were lovely but there was definitely a language barrier, they may have their job because they can speak english but alot of questions were met with looks of "I don't have a clue what you're asking me". It made everything at reception a slow process. It took us about 20 mins to check out. Also another reviewer said their Internet wasn't working, yes, still wasn't working for me either. And they charge for Internet, not acceptable in a big resort. I paid $15 a night in shabby places and still had free high speed internet. Come on Peace Laguna! The Breakfast was excellent, top marks there for both food and staff service, including the Friendly Chefs. There are new rooms in hotel style out the front of the resort that look amazing. If I had my time over I would probably opt for these. They look top class and are cheaper than the Cottages that are looking tired and need a revamp.
When you're paying more than you usually would because you can't resist how lovely it looks on a website and then you arrive and don't get what you expected, its disappointing.
It is still a lovely place to stay, with nice people and nice food but my review is more critical because of my expectations when paying more than usual.

Great 4 star hotel, ideally situated in the heart of Ao-Nang. We stayed in a Private Cottage which were situated on the Lagoon, i would definatrly recommend staying in this room type, it was very spacious, clean, had out door shower (cold water only) and jacuzzi bath..
The resort is lovely, there are a few pools which we did'nt really investigate but the mian pool was very nice, however it did turn all of our swimming costumes green, which on our return have not been able to get out, not sure if its the type of chlorine they use , for all the girls, it also turned my blonde hair slightly green and destroyed my nail polish and my nail extensions..
The staff were very friendly and helpfull, drinks and food at the hotel were very expensive compaired to outside.
The local area was really quiet while we were there, low season so lots of discounts. Turn right out of the hotel and there is a strip of bars which are very lively and open until the last person goes home i think, the first bar on the right as you walk into the strip has lovely girls working there and they play lots of games with you to keep you entertained, the drinks are also very cheap.
Food wise, if your a steak lover go to a resturant called carnivour, it's about a £2 tutt tutt ride away and it is AMAZING, it's a fantastic resturant and you get the best steak, grill type food, it's definatly 5 star dining and cost for of us to eat like kings £80! another good local resturant was Del Rocks which was right out of the hotel and on the oposite side of the road, lovely resturant which has Air con!
The Beach is not that great, but you can travel to other ones, we hired a speed boat for the morning (9-3) and visited phi phi, chicken island, Raleigh, well worth doing about only cost us £200.
All in all a great pleace to Visit and a lovely hotel..
