“Good location and perfect view”
Reviewed January 28, 2012

Spent more than a week in Aonang, we stayed at the penthouse apartment, incredible seaview directly from the whirlpool tube. Friendly staff, small pool, and access on the beach.

The best things about this small hotel are its location, which is right by Ao Nang Beach, and the fantastic view of the Andaman Sea from our room on the fifth floor that has a balcony.

The hotel looked recently refurbished and our room was largely well-maintained. However, some leaking from the ceiling in the toilet was observed, but we weren't that bothered as we seldom used it.

The pool was pitiful -- quite small and looked poorly maintained, so we shied away from it.

Breakfast, which came with our stay, was generally good, featuring Thai and Continental fare, and eating at their seaside resto is very relaxing.

Room Tip: Choose either room 505 or 506 if you are booking Superior Sea View. These rooms have a balcony on tw...

Good location - right in Aonang town centre. Was given a room with no view. Basics - water jug but boiled water was not really clean - had a layer of residue floating on top. Drank the mineral water which we thought was complimentary from hotel (from experience, hotels give two bottles of complimentary mineral water). However we were charged 100 baht for that when we checked out!!! Water pipe was leaking through the night.
Restaurant has lovely view of the beach and sea. Breakfast is just sufficient - nothing fantastic.
Lady receptionist was friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view would be lovely. Prices would be much higher. Compare prices with other hotels a...

We've been to Ao Nang before in another upmarket resort but that had no view although it was the best room type available. What sets Beach Terrace apart is that you get a fantastic view of the sea (sea view rooms). It's also very conveniently located with direct access to the beach, a set of adjoining restaurants and the Ao Nang beach road. We walked in and negotiated for a superior sea view room. Because it's low season (Sept 2011) you can expect a substantial rebate from the official low season rate. Don't make the mistake of booking online, just make sure you have a stay for a night or two in Ao Nang, then start looking around and haggle.

Our room (505) has not only a view to die for but it sports a L-shaped generous terrace to enjoy sunrise and sunset. The room is very stylish without beeing sterile. The bathroom is done with a lot of glass and "see-through". This is maybe the nicest room we ever stayed in.

The staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is Asian or American. We had a very pleasant two weeks stay and will certainly come back (low season).

Room Tip: Superior Sea View, especially room 505

We made up one mind to choose more destination to travel more in Thailand. We booked the air ticket from Bangkok and choose Krabi for next. Bought the hotel voucher at Krabi Airport and request the hotel where side by the beach and great view. We met the owner and she offer us the sea view room,Especially she is friendly and kindness for us. Thanks for warm welcome and hospitality. The restautant was located the back of hotel and nice sunset. Nice memorable for our family and next year we back again.

Room Tip: Junior Suite for best sea view on 4 th floor.

4 of us rented the most expensive rooms in this hotel expecting to have a few incredible days here ( the top suites -the penthouses)...how wrong were we ...from the second we steped in the smell hit us , it comes from everywhere where there is a sink , vent , bathroom drainage etc , it stinks like there is an army of dead rats under the floors....I thought ok , maybe because the rooms are not rented very often , a few showers on , leave the sink on for a little and the smell will go , ac on full ...Wrong again , went into the shower ...no water . Spoke to the receptionist promised me that it will be sorted in half hour . True , half hour later there was water coming through , no great pressure , not enough for the jacuzzis and the power showers they advertise but neverthless water , we had showers and went downstairs just to discover that they knew about this all long and they had to bring in cisterns of water that they were pumping to the last floor in order for us to have water....and this happened every day for the 4 days we were there ...no water pressure and the stench was really bad ...we had to buy and spread around rooms odorisers and scented candles in order to make it bearable...On top of all this one of the suites was left suddenly without electricity and they brought in a string of "electricians " which of course didn't find the fault so they found the perefect solution : they used a really long extension from the only socket that was working and they plugged everything into it :-)) see pictures if u don't belive it !!!!( 2 with the cables all over the floors , one with a wet towel over the drain to stop the smell ). The second day the ac in the other suite died too , but that was more bearable because it died overnight and they managed to fix it by lunch time next day.
I don't know how the other rooms are , they looked nice and clean and generally the hotel is nice and clean and in a good position but don't make the mistake of renting the top rooms ( there is only 2 of them - they are huge , beautiful and the views are amaizing ) , you will hate every second spent in that stench and with so little running water. The staff are professional and friendly , we had no other problems whatsoever .

Room Tip: rent any rooms but not the suites/penthouses on the top floor
