The hotel is a laid back resort in the middle of bustling Ao Nang. About 5 mins walk through a small road to the main street, 3 mins if you use the back gate (beside the spa centre).

The hotel is set in a tropical resort like setup. You can enjoy the pools of the hotel which is one of it's main attractions. The bed is made up of 2 single beds join together, so if you are a very sensitive sleeper you might feel the separation of the beds.

The breakfast is good. Typical spread of bacon, ham, sausages, eggs done the way you like it, some Thai food, cereals, yoghurt, juices, tea and coffee. The coffee is quite a let down.

Location is great as you are shielded from the hustle and bustle of Ao Nang yet close enough to restaurant, cafes and bars to fill up your day.

Room Tip: Rooms with pool access my sound nice, but if you like more privacy, it is best avoided.

The hotel on the whole is very nice, its only a short walk (about 5mins) down to the main street. We were booked in to the dulux pool side rooms for the first 3 nights as we couldn't go to Bangkok at that time (floods) but I wouldn't bother booking them, they do open up straight on to the poolside and have a jacuzzi area but it took us a while to make the housekeeping staff understand that we wanted them to turn it on/off and it wasn't very good, the other downfall of these rooms is that you feel like you are in a goldfish bowl as people sunbathing opposite or using the pool can see straight into your room. We moved to a grand superior room after 3 days and much preferred this as it was on a higher floor. The mini bar in both rooms were well stocked but a little expensive compared to the supermarket on the corner, so I would advise buying your drinks there, the personal safe in the room is convenient to have and both types of room were spacious, the only thing we gained in the dulux room was extra draw space but we didn't really need it and the TV was bigger with free wi-fi access. The buffett breakfast was good but the coffee left a little to be desired. The breakfast room turned into the restaurant during the day and evening, we ate here on our first night and had no complaints with the food, but once we had been down to the main resort we found that we were rather ripped off price wise, so we didn't eat there again. The staff tried their best to help if you had any problems of any type. We would stay here again because it is in a good quiet location which is close to the main amenities.

Room Tip: Go for the Grand Superior rooms and use the lift down to the pool side

I think my review title is self-explanatory. The beds are really uncomfortable. Hard and you can basically feel the metal spring inside. The extra bed we've got was even worse. So, minus one point.

However, saved for the beds, everything else is good. They have got nice swimming pools. The room is pretty big, even with an extra bed in, it is still very spacious. Our room has a big balcony overlooking the pool. The bathroom is big and clean. Adequate facilities and supplies e.g. hair dryer, safe, slippers, umbrellas and etc. Free wifi is available at the pool, restaurant or lobby. Rooms closer to pools able to receive signal too. Password can be obtained from the hotel staffs. Breakfast is good but the dinner we had was just so-so.

The location of the hotel is good. It is quiet and serene. Approximately 5 minutes walk away from the main busy street of Ao Nang where the beach, restaurants, bars, souvenirs stores and tour agents are. It is very convenient.

Room Tip: Room 214 and 215 are connecting rooms. Good for family. Consider to book room on the ground floor wh...

From the moment we checked in, to the accompaniment of a fruit punch, my wife and I were most impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Our room was spacious and well equipped. The mini-bar was well stocked, in-room wifi and personal safe were very convenient and access from our balcony directly to one of the 3 pools was an added luxury. The restaurant provided a wide choice of food, from West and East, for its buffet breakfast. The hotel is well situated - an easy stroll to the beaches and to local hot-spots - and yet, being off the main road, is quiet. The Thai massages which we had were good. We can certainly recommend the hotel - our stay of 6 days was a memorable one.

We stayed there for 2 nights. We weren't impressed with their service, Firstly, the staff were rude when we said the room was smelly and wanted to change the room, they said there's no room available, we would understand if we didn't make it clear that we wanted a non-smoking room when we booked with them online.

The location was good. The beach was nice. Still impressed with the atmoshere there.

Me and my husband Stayed here in october 2009 for 14 nights. On first impressions the hotel doesnt look much but when you walk through it;s perfect. We went in low season so we did experience some rain which didnt bother us as it was still so warm. The good thing is that it was quiet. Having never been to this part of the world before , it has now become one of our favourite places.
We stayed in a room which had direct acess of the balcony in to the pool which was so nice and the rooms are lovely and big. Breakfast was fine, mixed choice and good start to the day. We were about a 5 minute walk to the main beach at ao nang and the shops and restaurants. It is sooo cheap to eat out and to explore the surrounding areas. We has some amazing trips which included cannoeing in the mangroves, elephant treking at nosey parkers and visiting a monkey temple. We had a great day. We visited the major islands like chicken island, poda , james bond island, phi phi which is a must and also experienced white water rafting. so many activites to do.
we are quiet people so it was nice to just wander in the evening to a nice restaurant and the local food is amazing. Its such good value for money,
hotel is a gem, great locatiob, good 3 star and a good base to be in. Will definatly return to the krabi la playa,

I could say so much more , krabi is fantasic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: definatly have a room with direct acess into the pool
