Tup Island - where you could see two small Islands joined together at low tide by a sandy causeway, and walk from one end to the other, awesome! It's only 15 minutes by speedboat from Ao Nang beach. Clear waters and you could see the fishes swimming up to you. Our tour guide gave us some white bread to feed the fishes and with that, we attracted the entire school of fish. Having them circling around you in the water - that's something you don't experience every day! =)

A popular offering from any of the island-hopping travel operators - the 4 islands. So, you cannot miss out on this if you're in Krabi!

We had a nice longtail boat to Chicken Island for 300baht per person. Waited a long while at the jetty as boatman will only depart when the boat is filled with min 5 pax. Nothing much to explore on the island but to experience the low and high changing tide on the footbridge was a long wait. We missed the morning tide change in early afternoon. Bring your own food and drinks as there is only one food stall on the island, with hefty priced stuffs. Costs 100baht for a simple two slices chicken sandwhich and 85 baht for a local can of beer. Longtail is relaxing, less bouncy than speedboat. Avoid staying too long on the island, experiencing tide change in the morning is well enough. You can't swim much as it was too rocky on the beaches.

We took the 4-island tour. It was cheap and nice. Tup island is nice to visit because nd you can walk to chicken Island. The nature is beautiful but full of tourist.

I took the 4-island cruise by longtail boat and I must say first off that if you can afford it, go for the speedboats. The speedboats are a little more expensive but way more comfortable. The longtail boats are very basic wooden boats with faded wooden planks for seating and no back rests to speak of. Also, every time you get off or on the boat you need to climb up and down a metal stair, much like what you find in a swimming pool, only much less stable. The metal stair is not fixed or attached to anything on the boat and therefore moves freely while you are climbing it. The longtail boats park close to each other and it was common to get whacked on the back by the neighbouring boat while climbing off. It's fine for most young people but definitely not recommended for young kids or elderly parents.

Tup island is a relatively small island and the main highlight is the sandbank that forms between Tup and neighbouring Chicken Island. The sand bank can offer photographic opportunities but the sand is really really coarse and I actually cut myself on it.

Also, I tried snorkelling near the beach at Tup Island, but it's not a very good idea because the beach is quite rocky and filled with sharp corals. However, you can see little neon coloured fish swimming quite close to the beach in shallow waters. There wasn't much else to see so I wouldn't recommend this trip to anyone unless its part of a pre-decided package.

During the low tide, you can walk across the two islands. But do wear sandals as the sand it rather rough.

Nice cool clear waters. You can even see the fishes swimming up to you as you sit by the edge of the waters.

Bring some bread to feed the fishes. The children will love it!

Definitely prefer the 4 island tour to the phi phi island tour. Much more relaxing and not so crowded.
