This hotel was right next to the beautiful beach. You could hear the waves if you just walked outside of your room. The rooms were very spacious with a nice bathroom and also very clean. We had dinner at their restaurant and it was delicious but the breakfast was average. I would recommend this hotel if you are willing to stay right next to the water.

Hi, I stayed here with my wife for 3 nights on a tour of the surrounding area and we stayed in one of the bungalows. The room was excellent, very spacious and clean. The breakfast was ok, not amazing but fine. The only complaint I'd have of the hotel is that the grounds for some reason have several birds kept in cages hanging from the trees?? I have no idea why this is, maybe a local tradition??? But i don't think it was necessary.

The beach at Ao Nang and the surrounding streets were a dissapointment due to the amount of rubbish and general tourist junk - and we visited at the end of the season. The local government or business owners could do a lot more very simple things to clean the place up and help themselves (like cleaning the beach each morning or providing more than 2 bins for the entire street!).

I'd definitely recommend this hotel as it was very good value for money but if you want a nice quiet (clean) beach then it's probably not for you.

Thanks.

Room Tip: The seaview bungalow was worth paying the little bit extra.

The room itself was lovely. Very clean, spacious and comfortable.
We stayed in a sea view villa, we came out of the door and were practically on the beach. The bed was comfortable and the room did the job.
The reason I've gave it average is that I don't feel like it offered anything special to make it very good or excellent. The toiletries that were supplied were not that great, we had 2 towels for use on the beach or pool and they also supplied cheap sandles for use on the beach which had obviously been worn before.

The pool was ok. There was a nice view of the cliffs but the beds were white plastic with dark covers on which got so hot in the sun they nearly took your skin off. As we only got supplied with 1 towel each for the pool it made sitting on them in the sun pretty uncomfortable.

The breakfast was ok. It was good to see the fruit was covered to stop flies getting on them but the cheese (which was plastic cheese squares), meat, bread and pastries were all uncovered and there were alot of flies about. I realise that the fly issue is something that would be hard to control as the dining area is very open to the outdoors, it would have been nice to have the food covered. Again, the breakfast was ok and edible, nothing to write home about.

If Ao Nang was a nicer resort I probably would use the hotel again but Ao Nang is somewhere we won't be returning to. I found Ao Nang itself to be abit shabby and tacky and it wasn't the Thai paradise I was expecting. Shame really as I think it could be a really nice place.

I know it's nothing to do with the hotel but the beach was a disgrace and full of litter so we didn't spend any time on there and chose to use the hotel mostly as a base and went out of town to do other activities.

After reading some reviews before we left, like staff problems and it smelling like sewage we were going to cancel. So lucky we never the Golden beach is a great place to stay in Ao nang the rooms are very clean and maintained to a high standard offering a comfortable, relaxing stay. The staff are efficient and always greeted us with a smile, although they didnt speak much English we didnt have any problems with communication, after all we are in another country. The grounds are beautiful with a huge pool that is also well manitained it was a pleasure to walk into The Golden Beach.
The location is spot on, just away from the centre of town and across a small lane and your beach front, which we seemed to use more than the pool it seemed a nice place to be. The resturant was reasonable but lacked the main ingredient in most meals. Try Tantas on the right 50m from the lane it offered a nice variety of good quality food at reasonable prices.
The travel desk offer the same prices as outside and they organised a day trip to Hong Island which was totally amazing, can highly recommend Phi Phi Tours for a excellent day, well done to the staff. So if you want a great place to stay in Ao nang consider the Golden Beach, we will definately stay again, thank you for our stay. If you cannot get in there Ao Nang Villa is also located in a good position.

We stayed 5 nights at this resort as part of a vacation set up by Andaman Adventures. They seemed to be able to get a better deal for us then if we booked on our own.

Golden Beach has a prime beachfront location. Great pool. The breakfast was mediocre, though that is to be expected in these parts. We did not eat lunch or dinner here since it was so easy to simply walk into AO Nang and try different places for every meal.

They were doing renovations when we were here but it should be done by now.
