This resort has admirable environmental intentions. We had room 911 which was quiet and away from the street. Had a nice rainforest feel. Pool was nice with an acceptable view. Good food and great breakfasts all were priced fairly for in resort dining. Downside. Poor in room wifi. Very hard and uncomfortable strange bed. AC was noisy but effective. Overall if i was assured better bedding i would go back to this resort if it wasn't in Ao Nang.

Stayed for 10 nights recently. The place appeared somewhat more classy than expected: Stunning to look at, 24h reception+guard, nice and clean room (except for a quite sandy balcony) with superb bathroom.
The staff is nice and extremely professional (though, in some cases, with a sort of detached courtesy I find a bit awkward.)
Pool area doesn't interest me very much. Looks nice though. And it's good to know the 15-16 pool bar happy hour (90 bht, ordinarily, for a Singha is a bit ridiculous.) Could also use some tables with comfy chairs near the pool bar.
The breakfast buffet is excellent. There's a chef to do custom omelets and stuff if desired. Also did one dinner buffet ("Asian Delights", if memory serves.) For 300 bht, I thought it was everything one could wish. Good variety and high quality.
The location is fantastic. It's a short walk to Ao Nang beach or the somewhat more peaceful bigger Nopparat (which provides a very nice option if you like running.)
There's a small decent street-food market just down the "hill".
The resort atmosphere is fantastic. Has a mangrove-forest-ish feel and a fantastic soundtrack of birds and cicadas and frogs and dear knows what. One can get lucky and observe some incredibly nimble squirrels jumping around the tree tops. Very serene.
Only a few minor grievances: The smoking policy is very strict. Not even allowed on balconies, which I find a bit oppressive. The bar directly across from my room gets annoyingly noisy (tv +/ music) some parts of the day, which I found somewhat in contrast with the place in general (you're given a preachy pamphlet for better eco-tourism which, among many things, state that one shouldn't be noisy.)
Either way, all in all an excellent place to stay for a very decent price. Should love to return.

if there is one thing i like about trip advisor, it's the honesty of the reviewers.

we chose pakasai foremost because of a very good offer we saw online months back before coming to krabi.

yes this resort lives up to its 4 star rating!

here's what i have to say about my experience at pakasai:

- the whole resort gives you this nature feel & i loved how even at night the nature feel lights up with random cute lights around the resort as you walk around
- loved the pool so much that i went swimming everyday. 3-4pm is happy hour which means buy one free one drink of course :) liked the whole infinity concept pool. the pool is suitable for elderly and kids as it isn't deep at all.
- loved how efficient the receptionist was
- YES BE PREPARED TO WALK TO YOUR ROOM ( this includes a flight of stairs) it depends which rooms u get. & also i think we were given this room because we were seen as a young couple so we didn't mind the walk :)
- the room is spacious!!! l respect the housekeeping people who clean the rooms everyday which are way up ie the room i stayed in.
- the breakfast buffet was pretty yummy and tasteful
- loved the view from the balcony (forest and nature and jungle feel)
- got all the wake up calls except the last day one ! but its ok.
the only cons was the random sewage smell in the toilet.

- wifi in areas where it says "wifi zone" but actually there is wifi everywhere which is good. the wifi in the room maybe on and off sometimes but not complaining.

- yes this resort is smack in ao nang town , you are away from the noise of the town because this resort is located in a little lane. its good location compared to other resorts which i saw had to walk quite a bit to the down. easily accessible to food, tuk tuks, tours, shops!

i really enjoyed my stay at pakasai and would definitely recommend this to anyone who is coming to krabi !

Had been to Krabi in Jan (2013) with my husband and we couldn't have asked for a better resort! It is just at the right distance from the market, restaurants, beach etc. We used to enjoy our walk from the hotel to the main market area. The room was super awesome - nice & spacious, and very clean. The bathroom was WOW! ;-)
Like my review's title mentions...if we were to visit Krabi again, we will blindly book our stay at Pakasai without a second thought!

As a `mature couple`, we greatly appreciated the comfort and tranquillity offered at `PAKASAI RESORT`. We have rarely received such a genuine ,warm welcome at a hotel,,,,,,,,,,,and this continued throughout our 5 night stay. This reflects on the strong management team,
The resort climbs the forested hillside, a few miutes walk from bustling Ao Nang, offering a variety of room options. We selected an `Adora` room, which was on the upper floor of an individual villa-type building. Both room and balcony were spacious, comfortable and well-appointed.Comfortable loungers were provided and it was good to spend the hot afternoons, watching the local wildlife, in the tree canopy (squirrels, geckos and a noisy cicada chorus!). The daily breakfast buffet,in the panoramic,open-sided dining area was extensive and efficiently managed and room service was speedy and tasty.Pool and spa were well-appointed.
The property and beautiful gardens were well-maintained and the staff were well-selected and trained. This was Thai hospitality at it`s memorable best.

All pictures show this hotel from an agle which gives you the impression that you are directly in a National Park - while in reality it ls located along the main road in Ao Nang
The rooms towards the back are very quite and peaceful but we were facing the street and had to endure Tuk Tuk Noise all night long - the Pool is also located towards the main road.

OLD DIRTY RIPPED Pool Towels!!! Abolute No Go!

Rooms are very nice and clean!
Doors dont shut properly - you hear everything from the hallway.

Good breakfast and a nice bar.

Tiny old Gym. Cannot be used really.

We spend four days at the Hotel and we were suprised regarding the standard of the hotel vs the price. The room was not ok and also not clean enough. Ants were getting in someway, the closet smelled like mould and the bed had no madress pad. The later meant the bed was almost to hard to sleep in... Furthermore, the TV had bad reception, bad Wifi in the room. Moreover, the cleaning of the hotel woke us up several time around 07.00. The best with the hotel were the service at the hotel desk. We will not stay here next time in Ao Nang.
