Helpful & friendly staff. Free wifi on request. Very clean pool. Great breakfast buffet. We had 2 rooms with connecting door. Fine for what we paid.

We had just spent a couple of hellish nights at the Blue Village bungalows not far from this place, and settled on here for more than a few reasons--namely we paid the same price for far more spacious rooms with working AC, a good selection of TV channels, scalding hot water showers, and pretty comfortable beds. They also had a fantastic breakfast buffet, BUT...

The main problems with the place involved the restaurant, which was Godawful (they sent us undercooked chicken wings--bloody--and didn't honour any hotel guest discount as they were obliged to; the other menu items we ordered were just utter crap), the staff in general (bar staff were useless beyond belief, the front desk staff chattered endlessly and got to you when they were damn good and ready, and generally weren't the sharpest knives in the drawer), and the bathroom, which was filthy. The complex is huge, and the management just does not have the staff upkeep the entire place, but to his credit, he saw all the mildew and hairs in our bathroom and got the cleaning staff on it right away. They scrubbed for a solid hour. One would argue that if they were on the ball, the issue would have been moot.

My wife was served an overpriced cocktail (with barely any alcohol) in a chipped glass. Their solution when I told them? To pour it into another glass.

I concur with the other reviewers--the pool looks like it's full of pond scum, and I stayed away from it, but many other people used it.

Many Thailand apologists would argue that Thais would have no problems with any of this and just espouse a "When in Rome..." attitude, but that's not acceptable in Thailand where tourists have been flooding in there for decades. They know the difference between good service and bad service, and the reality is that some hotels or restaurants just don't care. Overall, this is one of them. The best workers in the hotel were the room service girls who were very sweet.

We choose this hotel because of the location and found the room clean and fine.

But the pool was not very clean and the morning they (tried to) clean the pool - it got even worse!!! Actually, it was so bad that we thought about denying our little daughter to use it - but that would be too hard on her, so we just told her not to dive...
And we know about 2 families who moved to another hotel after this.

The furniture in the pool area was old and in bad shape, and during our 5 days of stay, we saw 1 sun chair break and 2 umbrellas fly away.

There was an awful smell from some small dirty "lakes" around the area, so we didn't use the balcony at all.

This hotel is situated in the main part of Ao Nang, and just across the road is the beach. It's Rooms are very clean with quite friendly staff who were very helpful. There was only 2 real downfalls: 1. there was a foul smell coming from the fish ponds that are throughout the landscaping and, 2. The pool is ok, however it was a bit murky and not completely clear (which may indicate that more chlorine is needed). Apart from that the food in the resteraunt is acceptable however they dont offer room service. Apart from those minor details this hotel is great value and I would surely stay here again if I came back to Krabi.
