We stayed at Ban Sainai for 9 nights at the beginning of November. The resort is a 45 min drive from the Krabi airport, and tucked against the cliffs in Ao Nang about a 1km off the main road. The resort is stunning, with the limestone cliffs towering close by. We stayed in a Coconut Cottage, just underneath the cliffs, which was very close to the hotel lobby. The veranda to our cottage overlooked the grounds and the pool. The cottage was extremely clean, and although the decor and furnishings were minimal, the cottage did have a queen sized bed, AC, a small safe (not large enough to fit a 13 inch MacBook Pro), a desk, and a mini-fridge. The large bathroom had a separate bathtub, and stand-alone shower. Breakfast was served every morning in the resort restaurant, and the selection was satisfying. I enjoyed the roti with fresh banana very much, the porridge with fresh fruit was also delicious. The scenery at the restaurant was peaceful and serene set atop a large pond with ducks and koi fish. The grounds of the resort are well kept and beautiful, and the highlight is the pool! The spacious pool has plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas, all of which have views of the limestone cliffs. The cafe at the pool has plenty of non-alcholoic beverages since it is a dry resort, and we ordered lunch a couple of times through the pool cafe (the food is cooked to order at the main restaurant, but delivered to you poolside). I found the lunchtime offerings fresh and delicious! The pad thai was probably the best we had in Ao Nang. A word of advice -- the pool's cafe is also where they keep the clean pool towels, but the cafe doesn't open until the staff at the main restaurant is finished with the morning breakfast, so it's best to turn in your used pool towels and get clean ones each late afternoon. The resort has a scheduled shuttle which runs people to and from the main beach in Ao Nang, and if the timing was right we'd take the shuttle, if not we'd take the short walk to the main road and catch a tuk-tuk. The Ban Sainai staff were always helpful and courteous. You can tell they take great pride in maintaining the beautiful serenity of the resort. For the price point of a night's stay it's a fantastic deal! The one slight fault we had was the bed in our cottage was a bit firm, and while this usually wound't be an issue it became one after sleeping on it for 9 nights, but again for the price we paid per night we were willing to overlook this.More
