“Favorite Resort in Ao Nang”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2012

This resort is great with a central location on the beach. We stayed in a superior room and also had about 14 friends staying in a variety of room types. The lodging is pricey but to be expected for the standard/location. They have a beach front pool but the better pool is in the back. It's quiet and has extreme views of the karsts towering overhead.

The breakfast is great, some of the best in Ao Nang. They also have an omelet bar which is a big bonus.

I do recommend the beach massage hut at the front. The gals/guys here have magic fingers and is a great way to wind down the day.

The only negative experience that I had was a big reservation for 14 ppl at the restaurant. I had arranged for a big welcome brunch for our guests so it would have been nice if they were prepared for us. They didn't have the table setup for us or even the reservation for that matter. That was my only complaint.

Great service, rooms, and location in Ao Nang.

Stayed here for 2 nights during our Ao Nang visit. Had a sea view room. Room is good sized, and both beds and shower/bathroom is above average for Thailand standards. No elevator makes it a little hassle with kids/strollers, but apart from that we were satisfied with our stay.

To be honest its wrong of us to compare this hotel to the others we stayed in(Indigo pearl and Kata Boathouse) as its a different market but having said that, we were so dissapointed with the room even though its marketed as a delux room , there was nothing delux about it.
Dirty lampshades dull and dark bathroom , low quality toilet shampoo/dusch articals. 1 sachet per person of coffee/creamer otherwise it cost 50 thb for more and only 2 small bottles of water per day.
The large pool had only differcul steps into it ,older people it took them ages to get in and out of the pool, could do with easier acces for all.
The breakfast was really only standard and nothing more to add there.

Its a shame because its in a great central spot in Aonang, it just needs some serious money being spent on renovations, in fact I suggest its sold to one of the main hotel chains like Marriott or Angsana as everthing is in place it just needs updating and bringing into form.

We stayed here one week in late november. It's a nice hotel with all that you need: swimmingpool, pool-bar, massage, free wifi, spa, tailor, friendly staff and more. The room was in okay standard, we found the beds to be a littlebit to hard. The best thing about this hotel is its location. Short distance to shopping, beach, boatpier, restaurants and so on!

You can't beat the location - very central. Beach in your backyard. A plethora of stores and restaurants just outside the resort. However, when we first walked in the room, I smelled something foul right away. I checked the bathroom and the toilet was nasty. Called the help desk and asked that the bathroom/toilet be sanitized. They immediately took care of the problem. When we got back to our room that night, there was a big cockroach sleeping on the bathroom floor. Felt uncomfortable in our stay since. Luckily, there were no more roach appearances on our 2nd & 3rd days of stay. The shower was also annoying. It changed temperature from cold to lukewarm to scalding every few seconds. The breakfast was below par compared to the other places we have stayed in Thailand.

I would like to love this resort as the grounds and the scenery are beautiful and the location is great - I just wished we didn't have those unpleasant experiences.

The pool is good and facilities as well. I asked the night front desk ( Sakchai E) if I could rent a DVD player and he was very generous to assist me even though i did not have the upgraded room. He was very accommodating! Thank you for a lovely stay, I will be back.

During our trip through the south of Thailand we visited many hotels. Aonang Villa Resort was by far the best hotel we used. We regretfully only stayed here 2 nights (20 and 21 November). The room (2308) with pool view was spacious and well equipped but not so up to date. The pool view was somewhat obstructed by the palmtrees but that did not bother us much. The reception was very friendly and always available. The sea side breakfast and dining area was very good. The gardens were well maintained. The breakfast was well sorted with Western and Asian food. But the best of all was the location. Just accross the narrow, traffic free street was the beach and there was no nightlife noise. The beach was still free of hire chairs and parasols. We loved it.
