Description: Azzurra is an authentic Italian restaurant, where you get anything’s you need to have a perfect "Italian Experience", away from Italy. We're creating a wide selection of homemade products, such like pastas (thirteen different kind!!!), pizzas, breads, desserts, fresh tomato sauce and many other delightfully specialties. The owner, Mr. Franco has been working in restaurants all over the country (Italy) since he was only thirteen years old, now he's almost forty-four and he build up Azzurra menu according to the experience he get in the last fourteen years passed in Ao Nang, always putting attention to dishes popularity and customer’s requests. Azzurra is located at the center of the Ao Nang Beach Promenade, very easy to find since the walking way is only 500 meter long. Franco and Azzurra's staff welcome you every days, come to visit us and try the Italian in our way...The Manager, Mr. Franco Russo. We also would like to inform our guest that we do not accept any kind of credit card, thank you.

on our 3rd trip to Ao Nang we finally took the bait and found an empty table at Azzurra. located on the main strip we walked past this place many a time and it was always busy which is a good sign. I was feeling worse the wear following 9 days of chang/singha induced punishment, so needed a bit of western homecooking and get away from the spice !!!

The place was very busy, but on a negative very very hot too but luckily our cold drinks arrived to cool us down. Promptly the starters arrived, the wifes brushcetta was really tasty, my vine ripe tomato soup even better - just what the doctor ordered with a tiny hint of garlic & chilli, not over seasoned with pepper & basil as often happens with tomato soup - your supposed to taste the star of the show at the end of the day. The mains followed in good time, both went for the same penne pasta dish with pancetta in a rich tomato sauce - a tad salty and short of content apart from pasta n sauce. The thincrust pizzas on the next table looked superb tho, and for me tonights meal was exactly what i needed after the previous days excesses, just dont overdress

There is always a queue waiting for a table here which is a good sign. There are a lot of places advertising Italian food in Ao Nang but this is the only one that gets it right. There is a nice atmosphere here, the food is tasty and the service is good (even if they are run off their feet).

Do I detect a taste of tinned tomato paste as a pizza base? This restaurant was fine when we came in 2003 and 2007, what happened? The place is full every night as with every other restaurant on the main drag so perhaps that is the reason, a captive audience, so people will eat anything.
Pasta was bland.
There seems to be Thai only staff meaning that everyone loafs around when managers are not around.
To the owners, find a way to ventilate that sauna of a restaurant

This restaurant is right in the middle of the main "drag", opposite the beach at Ao Nang.
Italian proprietor was charming, as were his staff.
Very good Italian food, although I probably wouldn't have the black ink ravioli again (I do like to try different food, instead of always the same favourite dishes).
Good house wine which was reasonably priced.
Would highly recommend

We visited Azzurra 3 times. It is an autentic Italian restaurant on the Ao Nang beach promenade.

No one 'attacks' you if you want to have a look at the menu. The servants are very nice and polite. The first time we visted very few tables were taken. Based on the reviews we had seen we took the chance anyway. We did not regret it. We ordered pizzas this time. Genuine Italian pizzas were brought to our table. Very tasty.

Azzurra is one of the few restaurants that does not have a multimixed menu. The dishes are Italian. As told we went back a couple of times later. The servants are always super friendly and again the dishes were delicious.

If I should have one suggestion, the beer could be served even clder.

Azzurra is a bit pricier than the 'eat all you can' pizza restaurants in the same street, but they can not match the quality. Azzurra is worth the extra Baths.
