“Excellent Dinner”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

We went in search of some Halal food and came across this joint and what a find it was! The food especially the tikka and karahi were amazing. The nans fresh and soft. The portions are very good. Service was a bit average, but overall the experience was very good. Very reasonably priced.

“Up and down”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

I don't know what has happened at this place in the last few months...maybe they lost a chef... The last few curries i have had have been poor. No flavour or care taken with anything. Really disappointing as I am a regular for many years now. Sort it out guys!!

“super good!”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

My family of four ate at this place and Taj Palace. Both were terrific, but this place was a touch better. The food was fresh, well spiced, and very tasty. Everything, down to the raita, was awesome. Service was also really good. The decor needs work, but the food is spot on. Wish they delivered to California!

“Fantastic Chicken Tikka”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

Went here for a break from Thai food. We love our indian food back home and its hard for restos overseas to match our favourites. Tandoori Nights is superb. Service is great, friendly as you'd expect. The food was every bit as good as any Indian food we've had before. The chicken tikka kebabs in particular are great. He even made them "Indian spicy" for our preference for more heat in our food choices.

“Number ONE restaurant in Ao Nang”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

Rather than writing individual reviews on the eight restaurants we tried whilst recently in Ao Nang I figured it would be easier for fellow travellers to read one review ranking the eight restaurants. Number ONE hands down was Tandoori Night's found on the main street Moo 2 opposite Subway . The Indian food was that good my ten and twelve year old sons made us go back a second time . Something we rarely do , after all variety is the spice of life. Raoul started the business 11 years ago and was the first Indian restaurant in the area. The staff can make any dish as spicy or mild as you wish and our favourite dish was the Chicken Tikka Masala. The Butter Chicken, Rogan Josh and Naan were also exquisite. Number TWO was Jeanette's Restaurant opposite the beach at Ao Nang. The seafood dishes were incredible . Try the Lemongrass Crab, Seafood fried rice, BBQ Tiger prawns or the Garlic and Pepper Squid which was absolutely divine . Jeanette's the pick of the bunch as far as Thai restaurants go . Coming in at number THREE was another Thai restaurant Wang Sai Seafood Restaurant at the start of Noppharat Thara Beach where you catch the long tail boats for Railay Beach. Not a flash looking place but extremely busy . Why ? Good Thai food at a very good price . The only downside is their timing is hopeless . Not all the meals come out at once and your rice might turn up five minutes after your main . The Thai soup here is delicious but spicy . Coming in at number FOUR is Azzurra . Run by an Italian who married a local, here you will get authentic Italian pizzas, pastas and coffee . Streets ahead of the other establishments in the area that claim to do Italian. In at number FIVE is Potjawan found up the steps behind stalls selling T-shirts between Ao Nang and Noppharat Beaches on the main strip . Here they predominantly have very fresh and cheap Thai food . The Tom Yum soup an absolute stand out . In at number SIX we have A-One opposite Noppharat beach . We found our Sweet and Sour Squid( Chef's Special Sauce) and Garlic and Pepper Squid divine alas the fried rice dishes were made with chicken stock cubes and were so westernised they were a disappointment hence we ranked them at number six . But by all means if not for the fried rice dishes they would have been top three. At number SEVEN we had Wanna's Place on the main strip opposite Ao Nang beach. The curries we found too westernised and tame ( tried Massaman and Penang ) but the children found the cheeseburgers and fries to their liking. Last but not least at number EIGHT we have Tanta at the end of Ao Nang beach heading up the main road . Neither their Italian or Thai food was authentic . A real disappointment. Many other restaurants to try but I hope ranking the eight we tried helps other travellers to this fantastic part of Thailand . Happy Eating .
