My partner and I stayed at the Sabai Manion for 4 weeks. The location was good for us, far enough away from the beach, restaurant, and shopping area to be quiet, yet close enough to everything to walk easily. It’s up the hill about half a kilometer from the beach and nestled next to a limestone cliff. We were there in high season and paid 855 baht for a fan room on the second floor of the older block. The room was fine, nothing fancy, but had a TV with several English channels, and a small fridge, and was cleaned daily. Breakfast was not included but we ate it there anyway in the small restaurant next to the pool; the selection of food was fine and the service excellent. Because we were there for so long, we got to be friends with the restaurant and hotel staff and found them all to be very friendly and helpful. We were also able to book several day trips through the hotel, all of which we enjoyed. The best feature of this hotel is the great pool, which is quite large and cleaned regularly. Recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors have a view of the cliffs. Get a corner room with windows on two sides.

We stayed here for about a week and overall have nothing to complain about for the money paid.

Positives:

Good location - far enough way from the night spots so that you get a good nights sleep, but close enough so that it's only a few minutes walk to the beach.
Friendly staff - staff always said hello and always seemed helpful.
Rooms were cleaned regularly with water replenished on a daily basis. Also liked the "door card" system (the cleaners won't clean unless you hang the appropriate sign on the door handle.)
Close by food vendors, located just outside McDonalds, and serve infinitely better food than the junk in the western food chains, and for a fraction of the price.

Negatives:
Room was a little dated with some holes in the ceiling. We also heard water dripping onto the ceiling from the roof above after rain.
TV was very temperamental.

Overall, would definitely return if I was to return to Krabi

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights after booking Sabai through agoda due to some of the reviews. The rooms were very dark and smelt musty. The staff on the other hand were very helpfull and friendly especially the lady at the front desk. The hotel had a lovely pool n sun deck area.

Our first hotel in Ao Nang. We relocated after 3 nights because of how hard the beds are - not recommended for those with back or hip pain. Even my athletic husband couldn't face another night in the bed! Dissappointed with the thin sheet / no blanket. Asked for more & the staff managed to get a fitted queen sheet - all they had. Ac was very efficient - too efficient with the thin sheets we were quite cold! Room is small dark & musty, not a room you want to spend time in. However everything outside the room compensates! Lovely pool / garden and sun deck, friendly staff with exception of the dutch owner who never said hi and scowled. Cute little dog to greet you at lobby, great location - 10 min walk to beach, street food outside, not noisy. Opted out of breakfast as we find them poor value for money. Wifi was weak but we crossed road to baan purr cafe each am for tasty breakfast & fast free wifi.

Very nice pool area. The rooms were larger than average for standard rooms in Thailand and cleaned very well on a daily basis. There is a small restauant next to the pool which serves breakfast (not included in room rate) and lunch. Their food is excellent and the menu has a good selection. Is a bit of a walk to the beach but is good exercise and you get to see the sights of the main street on your way. Would stay here again if travelling in the area.

My boyfriend and I have stayed twice now at the Sabai Mansion this month and I have enjoyed it both times! The first time we booked through agoda and stayed in the most expensive block out of the two in a corner room with a breathtaking view out of two lovely large windows. We payed 600 Baht per night with just a fan but after a couple of days upgarded to 750 baht with air con as the rooms were very hot and smelt a little musty without air con. The room was very spacious and you are provided witha mini bar of soap each, a bottle of water to share and two toilet rolls daily. There is a tv in each room ( three English channels news, Syfy and Universal when working ) and a fridge. The rooms are cleaned everyday by three cleaning ladies although they seem to spend more time in a small room by the pool gossiping than they do cleaning rooms, they also do like to stop and stare and even talk & laugh about the guests if you are sunbathing by the pool which is very uncomfortable. During our first stay here we were not getting our soaps replaced after the first day so we assumed that the soaps were just a one off but after speaking to the owner we found that you should get them everyday. This issue was sorted out from then on though. The rest of the staff who work here are totally different and really lovely. The guys who work on reception day & night are both extremely friendly and very professional - a credit to the hotel!!! There is also a maintenance guy who is constantly working around the hotel and he is also very friendly! There is a great pool which we really loved, unfortunately there is a seat and a few tiles missing in the pool and the bamboo sunloungers are in desperate need of replacing and are held together by cable ties but these issues could be down to the fact that the owner is trying to sell the hotel - if the cleaners were replaced and these jobs fixed I would give this hotel 5 out of 5. The second time we stayed in the cheaper block, the rooms are 590 baht with air con and are just a smaller version of the more expensive block. You still get a tv, smaller fridge etc but the table and chairs outside the rooms in this block again need replacing or a really good scrub. You can hire a dvd player for 100 baht for 24 hours and there is a good selection of dvd's to borrow - perfect on a rainy day ( of which we had several ) and a restaurant by the pool that opens during the daytime. Overall this is a great hotel - I wish I could afford to buy it! The reception staff and spacious pool make this hotel an excellent choice in Ao Nang!

Room Tip: A corner room in the more expensive block is worth it for breathtaking views!

We really enjoyed our stay in Sabai Mansion. The rooms were really cheap (590 bath for A/C room, 700 for A/C room with beautiful rock view). For that you get a simple room, in a nice quiet hotel with comfortable swimmingpool. It's only a 5/10 minute walk to the beach, and between the hotel and the beach there are many nice bars and restaurants. I would really recommend this place.

Room Tip: I would recommend to get a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor, to get a nice view of the Ao Nang rocks.
