“Paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

It is a paradise. We stayed at small boungalow, which is located in the middle of tropical forest with very reach flora. The room was clean and very cosy. Breakfast included in the price was European style, but with many tropical accents like fruits and fresh juice. The resort is located approx. 2,5 km from the sea which can be considered as a small disadvantage, but every sharp hours there was a shuttle free bus from the resort to beach and vice-versa. Noteworthly is the swimming pool with a outstanding view on the cliff. I strongly recommend for everyone.

Stayed here recently in one of the fan cooled huts and was not impressed.
The huts are very basic and i mean basic! A mattress on the floor, gaps in the floors and walls where mosquitoes came in when you had the light on.No mosquito net provided, the bed did not have a top sheet but a rather too warm quilt type blanket. There is barely room to move in those huts if you stay with 2 people. The provided safe was not bolted to the wall but sat on the floor and everybody could have just picked it up and carried it away. The curtains in the hut were dirty and mould stained. Okay I did not pay that much and breakfast was included but with a few improvements this could be nice.
I had a look at the air conditioned bungalows and they looked a lot better and roomier.Worlds apart actually and if anyone contemplates staying here this would be the better choice.
Be aware that it is away from Ao Nang town and the beach and is not in walking distance at all (approx. 25 min). The resort provides an hourly shuttle service with works quite well, howeverone of the drivers is extremely rude to guests.
Overall this might be okay if you want to stay in a jungle setting but for the price they charge for an A/C room you could get something much closer to the beach.

We stayed at this hotel on the last 2 days of our trip around southern Thailand. I don't normally write reviews if I don't like the hotel but feel I need to leave a review for this.

We arrived at midday after a flight from Samui and were taken to our room. We had just booked a fan room as we was only here 2 nights.... Wow.....a cute little hut up some stairs but then we got inside. A mattress on the floor. Once we had got our cases in there was no room left. The bathroom was big enough but no soap...the shower head leaked and when turned on spit water in all directions, then to make things worse there is some sort of electrical power box opposite the shower unit. If we had been staying longer that. 2 nights would of asked.for another room or found another hotel.

How this is classes as 3* I don't know. The room has nothing apart from a safe and bed and a fanfan. No fridge...no TV....no phone. As anyone visiting Thailand knows cold water is a God send. But we had to cope with warm water. Another problem is there is only 2 plug sockets. You need the fan on constantly so you have one plug available.....to charge phones...cameras... Not possible. The room has no window glass. But a weird system of panes of glass which you wind to close but if you have rain like we had then you won't sleep. The only up side was the pool was lovely...the breakfast was nice and they have an hourly shuttle to the beach.....but this is in the resorts tuk tuk truck and the driver is a mad man. I lost my hat whilst whizzing around a corner.

Considering we only paid 10gbp more per night for a 5* hotel in samui....this was appalling.

I couldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

My partner and i stayed here for 2 nights whilst backpacking, and what a great find! Lovely individual wooden bungalows in the middle of the 'jungle'! Lots of trees and vegetation all round. The facilities were basic, but clean and comfortable! We had a great night's sleep.
We enjoyed having breakfast, which was included in the £44 price for 2 nights, in the restaurant/ tree house, We had dinner too one night - good food and cheap prices that compete with local shops and cafes.
The swimming pool setting is idyllic if you want to relax on site!
The shuttle is a free and very convenient way to get to Ao Nang beach.
One tip - don't forget your mossie spray!

Great to stay somewhere different, which was our aim whilst travelling round. Would recommend and will go back!

Room Tip: Some bungalows are higher up and have more steps to climb.

Far from the beach but surrounded by nature is what this place is all about..the bungalows are great if you want to try a different scene from the beach!

Surrounded by plants and natural vegetation you can get some peace and quiet here.

At night the peace can be a little interesting at sunset as the crickets (cicadas) start their buzzing...it is actually quite loud but it does not last very long and it is a completely natural sound in Thailand...the cliffs echo with that buzz if these little creatures. At dawn, you may wake to hear the cocks crowing and rise with the sunlight. This place is amazing for getting the full effect of nature. The swimming pool is small but adequate.

Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and omeletts made to order.

We can highly recommend this romantic jungle hide-away...basic but fun!

Room Tip: Air conditioning may be important to you!

stayed here for 4 nights - it's a 10 minute drive from ao nang beach but the shuttle service really works - on time and reliable. rooms are clean although there are a few mosquitos in the surrounding greenery. just buy some spray to be sure of a good nights sleep. breakfast was acceptable and staff were friendly - what more do you need?

We stayed at cliff view for 3 nights and absolutely LOVED it!

We stayed in A1. Our bungalow was clean and the A/C upgrade was WELL worth it. Our bathroom was a bit of a YMCA style bathroom but we didn't mind, we were only there to shower and restroom. We absolutely enjoyed the noises of the jungle... the birds, the bugs and YES the roosters in the morning. It was nothing we couldn't sleep through. We had an awesome front porch as well. Breakfast is actually really good with made to order omlets and eggs.

We did have ants get in to our room because in our drunkeness we got nuts covered in honey all over the floor. The fact of the matter is that you are in a jungle... so ants will find there way in anywhere with the simple smell of something sweet. We just cleaned up the nuts and they left.

When we checked in they offered us a 2 for 1 for a tour since we were staying 3 nights. We paid 400 baht ($12USD) for 2 adults 4 island tour with barracuda tours. This tour was interesting but we kept an open mind since we paid soooo little. It was a double decker long tail, and yes, it was super crowded on the bottom level but only a few on top. The bottom was packed with asians hiding from the sun. They stopped at 4 islands and I found that there was ample time at each. They served us fresh watermelon and waters!

The beach is a little bit of a hike but we had absolutely no problems with the shuttle. We even convinced a couple of the staff memebers to give us a ride into town on their motorbikes after hours. It was quite a ride to remember! There is a few bars in a square that are open late. We highly enjoyed the thai cover bands. They were so good! The street food is awesome and we never got sick.

Travel note:
We flew into Krabi airport and paid 400 baht (fixed price) for a taxi to Cliff View. The taxi was a brand new honda civic and it didn't take long at all. They did originally bring us to the wrong cliff resort but it was easily sorted out.

Phranang Cave beach was our favorite and make sure you do the lagoon/view point hike. It was well worth it. You do not have ample time on the 4 island tour to do the hike, but you can easily catch a long tail from ao nang beach for 200 baht on a seperate day.
