“Amazing Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2014

The Lae Lay Grill is in a fantastic position in Ao Nang, perched on the hill over looking the coast. The hotel put on a little tuk tuk to take you to up the hill to the restaurant and while you are waiting they give you menu to look at. From the moment you walk in the service is second to none. We had a table overlooking the coast but all the tables have a great view. The menu is very extensive and the main focus is on seafood.
The service was fantastic, the staff really couldn't do enough to help and make the experience the best it can be. The staff were available at all times without being over-powering.
The food was also fantastic and there was an extensive wine menu.

“Hands down, the best quality seafood meal in Ao Nang”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2014

This was a nice find! Sitting on top of a big hill with awesome views of the beach and sunset. They pick you up at your hotel (our 3 couples were picked up at Centara Anda Devi and Ao Nang Villa) and dropped off after dinner. The food was exceptionally yummy! We ordered the local thai dishes like massaman curry, tom kaka, morning glory, pineapple fried rice, pad thai, etc. And the seafood was a very yummy grilled sea bass in banana leaves (the best esp with the spicy sauces), lobster (tasty) and crab with salted egg (deadly to the heart but good for the tummy). And the service was top notch. Presentation of food was very well done too. Certainly not the cheapest seafood you can get, but certainly the yummiest and worth every penny. Will dine here again - most definitely! One of our friends were celebrating a BDAY and the staff sang to him and threw in a bday fruit platter free-of-charge. Nice touch.

“Stands out in the Aonang dining scene”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2014

Starting from the location up a hill to the menu with some simple but tasty dishes (I tried the grilled seabass in banana leaves) and the attentive service, I found this restaurant a welcome surprise after one whole week of dining in Aonang.

“Magnificent views, beautiful Thai dishes, most attentive staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2014

My partner and I were recommended to come to Lae Lay Grill by one of the duty managers at Beyond Resort when he found out we were heading over to Ao Nang last night. We arrived there after the sun had set and had an amazing dish of soft shell crab, crab meat omelette ( which reminded me of my mum's traditional chinese cooking) as 3 grilled Tiger Prawns, one well filled steam rice and morning glory (water spinach) on fire with two watermelon juices and one mango juice ( roughly costing 1440 baht all up.) besides the food being really amazingly yummy, the staff are extremely attentive, and there were def small things that they do to perfection - delivering drinks with straw facing you, when we finished a dish, they were promptly taken away, without the feel that the waiters were hovering at all:)
With this lovely experience, we went back tonight- saw the sunset which is absolutely breathtaking as you see the entire horizon with beautiful shades of red with islands emphasized with darkness. The second dinner we had the banana leaf grilled fish which was beautifully deboned, and absolutely full of moisture, with prawn wrapped in egg noodle batter and glass noodle roasted prawns. I personally preferred the previous night's dinner, but both dinners were both lovely, and again the staff were again extremely attentive.
Well worth reserving a table for 6:30ish to have dinner with the sun setting. :))

“Nice view but bad food ”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2014 via mobile

The restaurant does offer a great view of the beach.. Staff are attentive, however the food quality is not great. We ordered 5 dishes, 2 of them were too salty, and fried rice was very hard. Only good one was sea-bass but overpriced.
