As we walked along the road just opposite of Ao Nang Beach, we were somehow lost as there are so many eateries and restaurants there and we just could not made up our mind on where to eat. As we passed by Ao Nang Cuisine, we stopped outside this restaurant for a while, read the menu and then we walked into it just like that, without any taunting from the staff or promoters.

We could really tell the difference of this restaurant as the diners were made up from people from all races. The joy and sense of satisfaction were truly written on all their faces.

We ordered soda, cocktail, in house specialties and tom yam guung. It was pure heaven. Highly recommended!

We have eaten here many times in two trips 5-6 years ago, so we were tripping down memory lane retrying the deep fried prawns. They were just as delicious and still come out on a ceramic boat with the stern filled with chilli sauce 8 large prawns for 150 baht. Being low season, they have a large range of 100 baht dishes and the beer (70 baht) and cocktails are very reasonably priced. Three dishes, Special AoNang rice with pineapple and raisins, Chicken and Cashews and a round of Drinks and change from 500 baht. The grand view overlooking the bay just makes it a perfect place for a relaxing lunch or dinner. So much so, we dined here three more times in a week and every time was great. The prawn boat is available with lemon sauce too on request.

We had our second meal on Ap Nang here. It's on the restaurant strip facing the beach. The staff were there but not exactly friendly. I had a seafood noodle dish and my companion a crab dish. My dish was ok but bland and the mussels were very small and dark so I didn't trust eating them. The prawn and squid were lovely. The crab dish was full of tofu and little crab. Value wise I feel it was overpriced for what it was and this included the drinks. There are plenty of other places so try them if you want more flavour and service.

It is not easy to have meal with a baby but we insist to walk to Aonang Cuisine from Aonang Orchid for our dinner. It was stated the first and oldest Aonang restaurant. Initially there are nobody in the restaurant comparing to the other restaurant with promotion. Overall it is still OK and average.

Here is my review on Aonang Cuisine:-

Restaurant Environment: It is just a normal Thai restaurant with basic and the baby chair is not safe for baby as it do not have locker.

Restaurant Service & Staff: Staff & services is average and below expectation as I notice many locals at Aonang having the same mentality ‘business minded’ and calculative. We were asking to have another adjoining table as we do not want any glass and plate near the baby but they are reluctant.

Food Quality: The food is pretty normal in all the restaurants. Overall average but recommended trying their recommendation food also shows at the entrance which is the grilled shrimps with sweet tamarind sauce.

We ate here twice during our stay & enjoyed both meals. Staff are friendly although song speak a lot of English, my wife tried to compliment them on her dish & they misunderstood, bringing out a second helping! Oops. Large Chang priced at 80tbt. We had Fried sweet curry with shrimp which was very tasty but by far the best dish is the rare shrimps well done with lime in salty & sour sauce 'real Thai style.' It was a taste sensation and a dish definitely to be tried, it was fantastic!!! Overall reasonably priced & well worth trying.
