“poorly managed, musky smell in room”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

We didnt book any rooms in Krabi when we arrived since it is low season we took the risk. Walked around the endless numbers of hotels in Krabi, and sad to say this Apasari is disappointing. Although we were first attracted to the pleasant appearrance of the outside of the hotel but as we walked in the supposedly called Lobby, we were greeted by the staff who looked more like the maintenance man !

Staff appearance is bad but lucky for him he seemed friendly, so showed us the room available (which was like 95% of the hotel). As soon as the door of the room opened, the musky wet smell loomed up at us....it was horrible. I didnt mean to be rude but I had to quickly close my nose as i have an allergy to odor and dust.

And the room rate is not really competitive enough for us to think twice. So we walked out in search of another hotel ...which is just 10m to the left or right.

Not recommended

Room Tip: not recommended unless you cant smell. The room musky wet smell is terrible.

We have just spent 2 nights at this hotel. We booked room only but with wifi although the Internet doesn't work very well. For what we paid which was just under £20 a night I think we got a great deal. When we arrived we were offered a cold drink which was a nice touch as check on was effortless. We were upgraded on arrival which we were also thankful for as they didn't have to do that, as we experienced in other practically empty hotels. The room was on the fourth floor and was clean and spacious. All the rooms had a balcony that overlooked the pool and made the room really bright. The room was modern and the bathroom had a tub and separate shower. All clean, no issues at all. The pool was bigger than the pictures make it look but only 9 loungers around the pool, which didn't bother us as it is low season. I imagine in high season you would have to be quick.

The hotel is slightly further from the main strip about a 10-15 min walk. We like walking so it's not a problem for us but you can get a tuktuk if you wish to do so. There were two beaches nearby you can easily get to. The one to the right of the hotel is much bigger and offers more beautiful views.

We arrived by plane at krabi airport. There is a shuttle bus which takes you into ao nang for 150 baht and if you tell them the name of the hotel they will drop you there as we did.

All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again if I return to krabi.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The rooms are very clean and spacious. I am particular about dirty toilets but this hotel has one of the cleanest toilet amongst the hotels that I stayed before. The only setback was the wifi signal. It is extremely weak sometimes none. I could not log in during my stay in the hotel.

We stayed here for 4 days 3 nights, during wet season. The room is very clean and spacious. The bed is comfortable. Every room has a balcony, making the room bright during the day. We enjoyed the swimming pool also, the hotel staffs cleaned it everyday.

We stayed here for 5 nights, the hotel was clean, spacious rooms all with balcony. Friendly staff and a good location, far enough from the main strip not to hear all noise but close enough to walk to. They have a good pool to dip in after a hard days work on the beaches and islands, but it only has a few lounges and they ae not in the sun for very long.
Don't bother going to Krabi night market, not worth the tuktuk fare, if you go then use bus. They did have some great food to try though.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool access room if you don't mind being next to the pool.

Highly recommend this hotel for any couples who are looking to stay in a nice hotel. The rooms are huge (we were upgraded for free to a deluxe room at check-in) and our room had a nice balcony with 2 chairs looking over into the pool area. Unfortunately while we were there, the pool was broken and we were not able to swim in the pool. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the main strip and beach, but there are many tuk-tuks hanging around the street so it is a simple ride if you decide to go down that right. There is also a day food market about 5 minutes away (waling towards the main beach) that has decent food for very reasonable prices (20-40 baht per dish). And the beds here are very comfy, some of the best sleep I got in Thailand during my entire holiday.

We stayed here for a few days. Room is very basic but clean. Bathroom is dark but well equipped - you have a choice of shower and bath (no hairdryer though).

Towels are very rough and not enough of them and there was only 2 of us. Bed was hard and blankets very thin and rough.

Air conditioning good once left on for a while but requires the key fob to be in the room at all times to operate.

Has a small fridge which is turned up far too high. Every can and bottle we put in there - turned to ice so when opening the drinks - you lost half the can each time as it used to almost explode. There are drinks there for you to buy but they are far more expensive than the little shops down the road from the hotel.

Had to ask for the free Wifi code as was not given it at check in. It's like they didn't really want to give it you for free. Check in was pretty quick and they let us check in early (no problems) and when we were leaving our flight wasn't until 7pm so they let us stay in the room until 4pm (no charge).

Staff were mostly friendly and helpful. Some staff's English was not great - so be warned. I ordered food near the pool and almost ended up with it twice as 2 different staff took my order and they could not understand what I was asking for and why I didn't want to order it for a 2nd time. Prices were reasonable. I had cheese salad sandwiches with chips for 150B so about £3ish.

Breakfast selection - a bit poor. Restaurant not air conditioned so did get a bit stuffy in there - especially with all the food still warming. Not bad if you just want cereal, juice and toast.

I don't think I would stay here again. We ate in the Mercure hotel - just down the road from the hotel (about 2 minutes) and that is much nicer - so I would recommend that one instead.

Room Tip: Ask for the free 24 hour wifi codes upon check in Buy your drinks from the little shops near the ho...
