good price, good location, good rest

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 25, 2012
We tried two rooms over the course of a week.

-Deluxe Room
This basically has a separate master bedroom, a large bathroom, large cabinets, sitting area (with futon), patio with view to pool and mountainface and that has a jacuzzi tub. This is quite comfortable for 2 people. A/C unit is in master bedroom so takes a while for entire accommodation to get cool but it's fine - ceiling fan in sitting room. Large cabinets with access to washroom too (sliding doors between the two). Bathroom accesible from both sitting room and master bedroom.

-Superior Room
This room is smaller than the deluxe. It is still quite comfortable. Nice view. No patio or jacuzzi, separate sitting room or large bathroom (but still decent sized washroom).
This room was about half the price of the other one (so this was ~20$ vs ~$40 for the other one). Still comfortable and good price.

The place had breakfast which we tried once but it was nothing special and not really recommended (go get some street food instead, you're in Thailand!). Asked for eggs and they took a really long time. We could've just have arrived at the tail end of service but it didn't seem any different next morning.

Staff is very helpful and nice overall. We rented scooters from here too at a decent price and they seemed fine and quite functional. Nice location, a little away from what may be noisy but close enough to whatever there is to do.

Recommended.

We had a very bad experience of staying in a hotel in Ao nang on first day. So we decided to leave & look for a better one. We walked in Haleeva Sunshine. After seeing the suite room, we could not stop ourselves to book it. Room was huge & beautiful. Bathroom was huge, there was a big living area and a balcony. On one side room faces city & other side balcony faces pool & hills. The room was beautifully decorated with all the facilities. The cot in the living area was very comfortable to sit & have evening tea. There was a Jacuzzi in balcony that made this room very special. We can't find such a nice room in Ao nang i think. Although hotel service was bit slow but the Manager Mr. Sun was extremely helpful. Will stay again in this hotel whenever we visit Ao nang.

I requested a room at the back and not only did I have a beautiful view it was very quiet as well. Not even heard the early morning prayers!!
I stayed in room 308. Twin mattresses (comfortable to sleep on, not to hard) on a platform. Good white bedlinen, tv, fridge, safe, cupboard space. Ok bathroom as the toilet will get wet when showering! Good wifi reception in this room, free off course. Thick enough walls not to hear your neighbours, only once in a while youight hear the slightest noise.
On the ground floor at the back is the pool area. Sunbeds and umbrellas. Very quiet during my time there (4 nights) only few other people uding the pool. They tiled the pool with green tiling, which looks as if it's not clean but its just the tiling. Nice views from the pool towards the formations. Poolbar not open. At the back, overlooking the pool is also a covered balcony where breakfast is being served
(I think 150 baht) and where you can sit after bf stuff is cleared. Also a rack with mainly nordic language books and old magazines. An update would be nice !;)
The staff at this place is very helpfull and friendly and check in as well as check out quick and efficient.
Upon arrival you are being welcomed with a mice cold drink and front counter staff will inform you about things in the area. Coffee and tea making facilities as well as a couple of computers for internet usage are also situated near the lobby.
Plenty of little restaurants as well as street food situated nearby. And about 10/15 minute leasurely walk to the beach/shopping/bar/restaurants etc area with plenty of the same on the way there!
Most definitely would use Haleeva again if visiting Ao Nang again and to the staff, thank you for your excellent customer service.

We stayed 3 nights and thought the location was great, only 10 minutes walk to the beach past restaurants, bars and shops. Received great welcome from friendly staff with lots of information. The room was great, although the curtains and walls gave it a tired look at first glance, the floors and bathroom were new and furniture in good condition. Room was excellent value, clean and very comfortable. Large bed, long built in seating, in room safe and fridge. Swimming pool was lined with green tiles and looked murky and the water was warm so we did not swim, but others were. Mosque nearby but not loud or regular like others. WIFI in room worked well with a router right outside our room. Did not get deal including breakfast so cannot comment. Paid NZ$28 for superior room but whilst we were there they had deals for NZ$22 per night due to low season. Unfortunately it rained every day in Ao Nang when we visited beginning of July 2012. Hotel laundry be careful they put in dryer if raining so T-shirts can shrink.
